Mera dil todne waale

Today (22 july) is the birth anniversary of Mukesh (22 july 1923-27 aug 1976). This is an important date for this blog as it gives us a reason to discuss a few Mukesh songs on this occasion.
Here is a song from “Mela” (1948). This song is a duet which is sung by Mukesh and Shamshad Begam. The song is picturised on Dilip Kumar and Nargis. As we can see from the picturisation, the duo do not sing the duet facing each other, rather each of them sing it in his/her own place far away from the other. Still they sing the same song with the same lyrics and the same tune. 🙂
Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.
