“Joru Ka Bhai” (1955) was a Mahashakti Films production. It was produced and directed by Chetan Anand. The movie had Balraj Sahni, Sheila Ramani, Vijay Anand, Johny Walker, Praveen Paul, Rashid Khan etc in it.
Today (3 august) is the birth anniversary of Jaidev (3 august 1919- 6 january 1987). Jaidev Verma, popularly known as Jaidev was a talented music director extraordinaire but he got very few assignments to showcase his talent.
Jaidev initially worked as the assistant of Ali Akbar Khan and then S D Burman. “Joru Ka Bhai” (1955) was his debut movie as a full fledged music director. The movie as well as its music became popular, but unfortunately Jaidev was unable to break into the big league. He remained on the fringes and got movies only sporadically. During his long and chequered career, he got to work as a music director in less than 50 movies.
On the occasion of Jaidev’s birth anniversary, here is a song from “Joru Ka Bhai” (1955). This song is sung by Lata. Lyrics are written by Vishwamitra Adil.
Only the audio of this song is available. I guess that the song was picturised on Sheila Ramani.

Jaidev saab was one of the best friend of Ashatai. Wish you had choose Asha Bhosle song.
HMV (Lp) issued in early 1970’s called ‘an unforgettable treat’ By Jaidev/Asha team/with Madan Mohan son (Kohli) as producer…which anger Lata. You will find lots of songs from that album on utube. Just listen those, they are all beautiful songs.
Anyway, When Ashatai gave birth to baby girl, so Jaidev visited her @the hospital…it was rainy…and Jaidev said “Aaj Varsha bahut tej se aayi hai” and Ashaji give her daughter name “Varsha”.
Nowadays, Varsha is a very good writer. I have read so many of her articles. She writes on.Hindutva as an ideology of her.
When Ashaji was struggling on personal and proffessional level Jaidev help her lot.
Ashaji had new album in 1993(?) “suranjali” She has included Jaidev composition (posthumous) which was made for her.
Very deliightful song by Jaidev music composition.
