“Dillagi” (1949) was a Kardar Productions movie. It was produced and directed by A R Kardar. The movie had Shyam, Suraiya, Sharada, Amar, Shyam Kumar, Amir Banu, Chandabai, Yasmin etc in it.
As many as nine songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the tenth song from “Dillagi” (1949).
This song is a duet which is sung by Shyam and Suraiyya. It is picturised on Shyam (the singer Shyam is different from the actor Shyam though) and Suraiyya (the same one :)).
Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.

This song is my favourite. The silken voice of Suraiyya is a perfect contrast to the deep throaty voice of Shyam. By the way, it may come as a surprise to many that the singer Shyam had a long innings in Hindi movies as a beefy, barrel chested baddie! He’s the sinister dacoit who captures Shammi Kapoor in F C Mehra’s ‘Prince’! Shammi frees himself and in the ensuing fight, he burns Shyam’s face with a ‘mashaal’! Remember? Well, he is Shyam, the singer!

I read somewhere that actor Shyam Chadha has sung only two songs in his carrier and they were in this movie Dillagi. Please confirm.
Have you written any article on other combination of actors under Same name Confusion?
