“Anokhi Ada” (1948) is a treasure of great songs. Like most music lovers, I was only aware of the just the few songs from this movie that were the most popular ones. But subsuquently, I have been discovering the remaining songs of this movie, mainly because the lyrics of the remaining songs from “Anokhi Ada” (1948) have been sent to me by Atif M. Yesterday I discussed an untypical composition from this movie which was a soft song, which sounded like a western music based composition. And here is a lovely folk music based composition from “Anokhi Ada” (1948) which has bowled me over at the very first listening.
This delightful song is sung by Uma Devi, a protege of Naushad. She is known among many music lovers mainly for her song Afsana likh rahi hoon(Dard)(1947). It is a travesty that this song from “Anokhi Ada” (1948) should fail to get popular among music lovers. What a delightful song it is. This song deserves to be counted among one of the best compositions of Naushad.
Shakeel Badayuni has written the simple and effective lyrics of the song.
I am unable to identify the lady who lip syncs this song in the movie. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her.

Zeb Quraishi is the name of actress on which this song was picturised ,she was supporting actress ,leading actress was Naseem Banu (Mother of Saira Banu)

I think the lady singing is Naseem Banu.

I recognise Naseem Bano who sang in Shamshad Begam’s voice in this movie.
