“Daaku” (1955) was a Basant Pictures Production. It was directed by Aspi Irani. This B grade movie had Shammi Kapoor, Shashikala, Kuldip Kaur,W. M. Khan, Anwar, Babu Raje, Sheikh etc.
On the occasion of Asha Bhonsle’s birthday today (8 september), here is a song from “Daaku” (1955). This song is a duet which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Mukesh and it is picturised on Shashikala playing a banjaran(I hope I have identified her correctly) and a topless Shammi Kapoor playing a daaku. Their banjara and Daaku looks are inspired by wild west movies I think, though I doubt that actors of those movies sang duets. 😉
