Aao yaaron aao pyaaron dekho khel niraala
Posted September 26, 2012
on:“Ek Ke Baad Ek” (1960) was a Raj Kala Production movie. It was directed by Raj Rishi. The movie had Dev Anand, Tarla, S K Prem, Radhakrishan, Hiralal, Ravikant, Sharada, Prabhu Dayal, Madhu Apte etc.
Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. One of the three songs was Nazar milaayi to duniya se darna kyaa sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. That song in fact is preceded by another song which is sung by Rafi and chorus and picturised on Dev Anand and his friends. That song is “Aao Yaaron aao pyaaron dekho khel niraala”. In this song, Dev Anand and his friends boo Tarla’s father (who is he ?) who is a black marketeer.
This song “Aao yaaron aao pyaaron” is written by Kaifi Azmi. Music is composed by S D Burman.

The black marketeer is played by Radhakrishna. He invariably played an oily, corrupt and sleazy bad guy.

Radhakrishna has played the role of Gangu Teli-father of SANDHYA (played by Sharada) and NOT Tarla.

Arunji,
Can you give us some details on this Radhakrishna, who was in my list of bad guys with Pran, Kanhaiyalal, Jankidas. He had an interesting role as Ghasit Khan in Baiju Bawra. His dialogues, “Aa gaya mera shagird aa gaya….Gaaye jaao barghudaar, gaaye jaao” in the song O duniya ke rakhwaale……, just before the stanza Mahal udhaas aur galiyaan suni…. aaj bhi mujhe yaad hai.

Khyati ji,
The character actor RADHAKISHEN was born in Himachal Pradesh. From the birth itself his voice was very unusual, but he made best use of this in his film career.
Basically Radhakishen was a writer. He has written stories and dialogues in several films, for example the story and Dialogues of film NAI DILLI-1956 is by Radhakishen.
He started his acting career from PADOSI-1941,under V.Shantaram and his last film was EK KE BAAD EK-1960,produced by his own son Rishi Raj.In this film,in the begining there is an anouncement in the credits that this film is dedicated to his memory and that this is his last film appearance.
In all he acted/wrote stories or dialogues in about 60 films.
Some of the films are-
Padosi,mazdoor,Geet Govind,Hip Hip Hurray,Khidki,Muqaddar,Apni chhaya,Nazariya,Baiju Bawara,Adhikar,Nai Dilli,Talaq,Taksaal,Lajwanti,Parvarish,Suvarn sundari,Nai Rahen,Honeymoon,Singapore,lalkar,Dak Babu etc.
There was another actor RADHAKRISHNA in the 60s,who is many times mistaken for this RADHAKISHEN.Obviously, when his last appearance was in 1960 film Ek ke baad ek,how can he be in films after 1960 ?

Here’s a song from Krorepati (1961) featuring the same guy, who appears in New Delhi (1956), in above song from Ek Ke Baad Ek (1960) and in Banarasi Thug (1962). In fact, since he died somewhere around 1960, his character disappears halfway thru the movie Banarasi Thug. Both Krorepati and Banarasi Thug are available on YT, and his name appears in the credits of both movies (@ 0:00:45 and 0:00:25 marks respectively). Anyway he can be seen in the visuals very well. Vinod Mehra died in 1990, but he has appeared in as many as 9 movies between 1991-1996. So its possible Radhakishen has appeared in a few movies after 1960. Now i dont remember Baiju Bawra, so I dont know if person Khyatiji is talking about, whether he is Radhakishen or Radhakrishna. Here’s the song from Krorepati:

Thanks Arunji for the info on Radhakishen (one, I had asked for). Never knew the existence of another Radhakrishna. Radhakishen really used his unusual voice artistically. I was unaware of his writing skill. Talking about using the unusual skills reminded me of ‘Blade Runner’ Oscar Pistorius, a double amputee whom I saw running for 400 meter dash during preliminary round in 2012 Olympics. He must have worked so hard to reach to this level with lots of courage.
