“Saathi” (1968) was produced by S Krishnamoorty and directed by Sridhar. The movie had Rajendra Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, Simi Garewal, Veena, Nandini, Pahari Sanyal, Ram Mohan, Sapru, David Abraham etc in it.
As many as five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Vyjyanti Mala and Rajendra Kumar.
Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricst and music is composed by Naushad. The two of them came together for only the second time- their first collaboration being in “Shahjahaan” (1946).

I wonder how many more songs from this movie are yet to be covered. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter.

For Andaz(1949)(Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Nargis)(Dir:Mehboob Khan) Naushad and Majrooh Sultanpuri collaborated. Am I right ??? Correct me If I am wrong . We are talking in this regard Am I right ???

Atul Ji, all the other songs except “Yeh Kaun Aaya” from this movie, the lyricist is mentioned as Shakeel Badayuni in the blog. Is that the case? Just confirming that it is not a typo for the song instead of Majrooh.
With regards to how many songs are left in the movie.. if I am not mistaken, there is one song left.. “Aankhe Khuli To” sung by Mukesh.

Naushad had some false notion about the political leaning of Majrooh, which got clarified just before Saathi.
You cannot expect the same jaadu, as everything got changed the voices, etc even instruments had changed. Compare the thaap of tabla 40’s and present day not to mention 50’s and 60’s.
Majrooh had written all the songs of Saathi. Kaha se aa gaye Shakeelji.

I just found out one 1979 flop masala movie Chambal ki raani , which has got music by Naushad saab,
and the lyrics are written by Jan nissar akthar and Majrooh Sultanpuri
That movie has got starcast comprising Dara Singh, Bindu,Mahendra Sandhu,Amjad Khan,Urmila Bhatt,Chand usamani,jagdeep,Kamal Kapoor, Narendranath,

If my memory serves my right, there is one song from this movie
“Mere bichhuaa jaisaa dunk” sung by Lata ji written by Majrooh Sultan puri,which was often played by Vividhbharati, I tried in vain to find out any audio and video link for this song. It was just a ordinary tune, but it seems,I am in search of that song from many years.Must be picturised on Bindu as a mujra song. Any one having any link to this song please ……

I have tried that in vain. There is not audio or video link, for above song, in that site.They have just mentioned that the song belongs to the movie.

Sorry ki koyee baat hi nahin hai,
No problem Its not your fault, the said song of that movie is very rare and almost obscure. Aaj dophar ko , mujhe bahut saalon ke baad ye pataa chal gayaa ke ye gaanaa Chambal ki raani film kaa hai karke.
If any one uploaded the said song of Chamabl ki raani, then automatically the Hindi geetmala site gets that song audio or video uploaded link.
Other 3 songs of that movie has been uploaded, so the link is available there.
Remaining two songs of that movies are most probably not available in youtube or anywhere. God only knows.

Atulji,
Naushad and Majrooh, did come togeteher for “Andaz” in 1949 also, and their team along with Mukesh’s 4 solos did create magic. Unfortunately the same effect was not so evident in “Saathi” in which Mukesh had 3 soulful solos and one duet with Suman Kalayanpur.
