Ro ro ke yaad kare mamta fariyaad kare

Posted on: December 27, 2012

“Mastaana” (1954) was a Black and White movies production. It was directed by H S Rawail. The movie had Motilal, Nigar Sultana, Kuldip Kaur, Chandrashekhar, Yashodhara Katju, Sunder, Rinkoo, Gope, Chaman Puri, Master Romi, Tiwari etc in it.

As many as six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh song from this movie. This sad song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Madan Mohan.

Only the audio of this song is available, but going by the picturisation of other songs of this movie, it is clear that this song is picturised on Nigar Sultana and Motilal who have lost their kid.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

With seven songs from this movie covered in the blog, I wonder how many more songs from this movie are still undiscussed. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.

Song-Ro ro ke yaad kare mamta fariyaad kare (Mastaana)(1954) Singers- Asha Bhonsle, Rafi, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-Madan Mohan

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

ro ro ke yaad kare
mamta fariyaad kare
aaja mere laal
meri khushiyon ke sansaar
aaja mere laal
meri khushiyon ke sansaar

chhup gaya chaand mera kaun badariya
chhup gaya chaand mera kaun badariya
dhoond phiroon main to saari nagariya
saari nagariya
aankhon ki jaan aaja mata ki praann aaja
aaja mere laal meri khushiyon ke sansaar
aaja mere laal meri khushiyon ke sansaar

raja ka haathi lele
gudiya ka saathi lele
dekhe paise chaar
mere nanhe munne yaar

aaja mai seene se tujhko laga loon
aaja mai seene se tujhko laga loon
janam janam ki pyas bujha loon
pyas bujha loon
doon mai duhaai teri sunle pukar meri
aaja mere laal meri khushiyon ke sansaar
aaja mere laal meri khushiyon ke sansaar
ro ro ke yaad kare mamta fariyaad kare
aaja mere laal meri khushiyon ke sansaar
aaja mere laal meri khushiyon ke sansaar
raja ka haathi lele
gudiya ka saathi lele
deke paise chaar
mere nanhe munne yaar
