This by now forgotten movie has songs that have also become forgotten with time. But the songs are nice to listen to.

On the occasion of the 63rd republic day of India (26th january 2012), we are discussing a few patriotic songs today.
Here is a song of this genre from “Aakraman” (1975). This song is sung by Kishore Kumar and it is picturised on Rajesh Khanna, who plays a handicapped person who has lost one leg and is forced to walk with the help of crutches. ‘Khaakaan’ from 1965 is a film I have never heard about before. Given the star cast, with Dara Singh in the lead, it definitely must have been a B grade costume action drama, that probably would have made the rounds of the B cinema circuit, and then went away. This is a song that I have heard on the radio many many years ago, and its melody and memories have remained with me all these years, without really knowing anything about its antecedents. Recently, I discovered this song on YouTube once again, and then found out more about the film and the song itself.
