These are lines in the song “Kaun hai jo sapno main aayaa” from film “Jhuk Gayaa Aasmaan “(1968), which can be applied to many Hindi films, especially of golden era of Hindi film songs which ‘died’ in no time as soon as they were released. Today (19 january) is the date of birth of Kaifi Azmi. To many music lovers of younger generations, he may be a lesser known name, and even to me, he was a “boring” lyricist when I was growing up. Having grown up (hopefully) 🙂 I have come to appreciate Kaifi Azmi better. We have over one hundred Kaifi Azmi songs in this blog and that speaks volumes about the fact that Kaifi Azmi was one of the major contributors in making the Golden era of Hindi movie music what it was, viz a memorable era for music lovers.
