On the occasion of the 64th republic day of India (26 january 2013), here is a song from “Amar Shaheed” (1960). This movie was a Padmini Pictures production. It was directed by B R Panthalu. The movie had Padmini, Gemini Ganeshan, Ragini, Shivaji Ganeshan etc in it.
This patriotic song is sung by Rafi and chorus.
Only the audio of this song is available. Details about this song are difficult to come by. According to earthmusic.net, Arjun is the lyricist of this song. Music is composed by Jamal Sen.

Hi,
Amar Shaheed is the Hindi version of the Tamil movie of the same year, Veerapandiya Kattabomman. The story is a depiction of the life of Veerapandiya Kattabomman, a 18th century rural chieftain from near Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, who bravely refused to acknowledge the sovereignty of the East India Company and instead chose to fight them. It is a matter of great irony that the man who finally turned traitor against him was his own brother. Kattabomman was publicly hanged at Kayatharu, a small village in the Tirunelveli district, where even today there exists a memorial at the exact site where he was hanged.
The Indian Navy’s premier communication establishment located near Tirunelveli is called INS Kattabomman in honour of this great hero.
The Tamil version of this film is considered a cult classic, thanks to the stupendous performance of Shivaji Ganesan. His fiery dialogues, especially in a sequence where he confronts the Collector Jackson and refuses to acknowledge the East India Company’s sovereignty have made this film immortal.

“Amar Shaheed” was released in 1960. Youtube entry is incorrect.

I am really happy that u have posted this song of Amar Shaheed 1960, I am proud of my father ARJUN ( late Shri Arjun Joshi) who penned all songs of this film.

Mr Karthik A Bhatt has given full picture about the Tamil Movie. It was a super hit movie which was dubbed in Hindi as Amar Shaheed. Shri Arjun Joshi has given a wonderful lyric to the Tamil Tune of G.Ramanathan.
