Jalne waale tujhko kyaa

Posted on: February 24, 2013

“Gunjan” (1948), by now an obscure movie, was a Nalini Production movie. It was directed by V Desai. The movie had Trilok Kapoor, Nalini Jaiwant, David Abraham, Pande, Balraj Sahni, Veena Kumari, Purnima, Narmada Shanker etc in it.

It is often believed that the first (and only) Kapoor to use Mukesh’s voice was Raj Kapoor. But Trilok Kapoor, Raj Kapoor’s uncle too had lip synced in Mukesh’s voice in “Gunjan” (1948).

One Mukesh song from this movie has already been discussed in the past. Here is another Mukesh song from the movie.

This song is written by S R Saaz. Music is composed by Ashok Ghosh.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

Song-Jalne waale tujhko kyaa (Gunjan)(1948) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics-S R Saaz, MD-Ashok Ghosh

Lyrics (Provided by Nitin Shah)

jalnewaale tujhko kya
unko khabar ho ya na ho
jalnewaale tujhko kya
unko khabar ho ya na ho
tu bhare ja aahe unpar
kuchh asar ho ya na ho
tu bhare ja aahe unpar
kuchh asar ho ya na ho

bastiyon se door
baanhen kheech kar laata hai dil
bastiyon se door
baanhen kheech kar laata hai dil
kya pata deewanapan bhi kaargar ho ya na ho
kya pata diwanapan bhi kaargar ho ya na ho

maut teri zindagi hai
zindagi hai teri maut
maut teri zindagi hai
zindagi hai teri maut
tujhko kya aise basar hai
ke(?) basar ho ya na ho
tujhko kya aise basar hai
ke(?) basar ho ya na ho
jalnewale tujhko kya
unko khabar ho ya na ho

A gem of a song under the music director of Mukesh’s first song from Nirdosh. As far as Mukesh singing for Kapoor’s , well there are quite a few songs on Shashi and even Shammi Kapoor.

Mukhesh sang ” socha tha pyar hum na karenge” for Shammi in Bluff master. others like duniya walo se door (Ujala ) etc.
