I realised it only just now, literally at the 11th hour that today (8 march) is the birth anniversary of Sahir Ludhianvi (8 march 1921- 25 october 1980). How could I forget the fact that Sahir Ludhianvi’s birthday falls on the International Women’s day ! This fact was mentioned by Raja while discussing Sahir Ludhianvi song (Aurat ne janam diya mardon ko (Saadhana)) this day two years ago.
Better late than never. On this occasion, here is a song from “Zameer” (1975). This song is sung by Kishore Kumar and it is picturised on Amitabh Bachchan as a guitar song. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist and music is composed by Sapan Chakravarty.

Thanks for reminding this one, That`s why on B4u music channel they are playing Sahir`s songs for 1 & half hours, I thought that may be today anniversary of Sahir ji, But iss khayaal ko aisse hi chhod diyaa, lo aap ne ek gaanaa post bhi kar diyaa.
I will wait for this day for next year. Sorry Sahir ji bhool gayaa aapko.

Atul ji- thanks, thanks , thanks a lot for this beautiful post. Yesterday, since morning i wait for the posts and thought you would be posting Sahir’s ‘log aurat ko faqat jism samajh lete hain’ on the occassion of Sahir’s birth anniv and International Women’s day. but i think we hv still to get the appropriate audio/video, (since the link i have shared with the lyrics (on 15.10.12) is of ishare/metacafe), then i think may be it will ‘cheeno arab hamara’, or ‘ram rahim krishna kareem’ or ‘main har ek pal ka shayar hoon’ or ‘ye duniya do-rangi hain’ , but then most of the Sahir songs deserved an article or write up with them. And i had a song with me for which i could not prepare the write up due to work priorities, so morally i feel i have no right to follow up or remind. Sorry !! that is the reason i do not remind about Sahir’s birth anniv , though i made a comment early morning on Raja ji’s blog. BUT i was sure that Atul ji will finally make a post late evening,but normally back from work it is very late for me to reach home, and due to ongoing board exams my daughters do not allow me everday to work on the PC(so could not log in). But today morning before leaving for my daily travel/work i just check and find that Sahir’s song has been posted !!

For the last 5/6 years i am regularly reading about Sahir and his poems. He is very close to my heart, becuase he has written about Social issues, women’s issues, on war, humanity, communalism, patriotism, about the proletariat, about nature, he has given us some immortal bhajans/prayers. For every situtation and emotions Sahir has written about.
For me he was truly secular person. and a great motivational philosopher.
In my daily travel bag i carry his book of poems and think over it, i am trying to learn him, to understand him, and finally trying to bring all his balance poems/songs to our blog.
I can not forget him, he is with me in my daily life , i feel his poems everywhere in our daily social life. On the second thought , when there was no post till late evening it came to my mind that do we need to remember Sahir only on 8th March or 25 th Oct. – No ! for music lovers like us we have to remember a person like Sahir Ludhianvi – for every moment that we spent , that we live here !!!
