Here comes a party song, performed by Mehmood in the film “Neela Aakash”” (1965). All songs of this movie are marvellous, including the one removed/unused from the film. I will come to that song in the next post.
The composer is Madan Mohan and the songs are written by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. Mehmood is in a party wearing a blue silk shirt, singing a song reminiscent of Beatles. The first stanza is saying as much as the
Beatles song :
I dont care for money
for the money cant buy me love
duniyaa mein do hi cheezen hain
pyaar hai ya phir paisaa
pyaar ke badle paisa doon main
kabhi na hogaa aisaa
pyar tumhaare kaam aayegaa
paisa kaam na aaye
From what I have read, Beatles were a rage in those times, so they influenced a few hindi film songs too. All duets in this film are Rafi-Asha duets. And I was happy to find Lata solo among the songs which is so mesmerising.
Coming back to the song, Mehmood is trying to make Manorama dance with him at the party, and not succeeding. Dharmendra is also present at the party, but is sitting quitely on the sofa.
This song was a new one for me when I found it on youtube. It is a nice and enjoyable song. But the best of Neela Akash is yet to come(posted), in my opinion.

Song-Pyaar wo shai hai ae mere yaaron (Neela Aakash)(1965) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, MD-Madan Mohan
Lyrics
pyaar woh shai hai
ae mere yaaron
pyaar woh shai hai
ae duniyaa waalon
jo dil mein bas jaaye
aur nazar na aaye
jeena mushkil marna mushkil
mushkil mushkil mushkil mushkil
pyaar woh shai hai
ae mere yaaron
pyaar woh shai hai
ae duniyaa waalon
duniyaa mein do hi cheezen hain
duniyaa mein do hi cheezen hain
pyaar hai ya phir paisaa
pyaar ke badle paisa doon main
kabhi na hogaa aisaa
pyaar tumhaare kaam aayegaa
paisa kaam na aaye
jeen mushkil marna mushkil
mushkil mushkil mushkil mushkil
pyaar woh shai hai
ae mere yaaron
pyaar woh shai hai
ae duniyaa waalon
in aakhon ne unn aankhon ko
in aankhon ne unn aankhon ko
telegram kiye hain
ek nazar mein ham ne unn ko
sau paigham diye hain
ordinary bhi
express bhi
sab paigham sunaaye ae ae
jeena mushkil marna mushkil
mushkil mushkil mushkil mushkil
o pyaar woh shai hai
ae mere yaaron
pyaar woh shai hai
ae duniyaa waalon
jo dil mein bas jaaye
aur nazar na aaye
jeena mushkil marna mushkil
mushkil mushkil mushkil mushkil
ho pyaar woh shai hai
ae mere yaaron
pyaar woh shai hai
ae duniyaa waalon
