I grew up with the music of late 1960s and early 1970s. That was the time when R D Burman burst into the scene like a tornado. When things settled, the musical scene was totally rearranged with old order finding themselves becoming irrelevant in no time.
During 1971, movie with R D Burman’s music were Adhikaar, Amar Prem, Bombay to Goa, Buddha Mil Gaya, Caravan, Hangaama, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Laakhon Me Ek, Mela, Paraya Dhan, Pyaar Ki Kahaani and Sanjog, to name some of them. All these movies were musical blockbusters.
“Caravan”, one of the movies of 1971 had music who populity was quite something to be believed. One did not need to watch the movie to savour the magic of the songs of “Caravan”. And I enjoyed the songs of “Caravan” without getting to watch the movie.
As many as seven songs from “Caravan” (1971) have been discussed in the past. Here is the eighth song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata and Rafi. It is picturised on Aruna Irani and Jeetendra as a dance song and they are watched by others including Asha Paresh, Junior Mehmood etc.
Listening to this song is a magical experience. Even the passage of 42 years has not been able to break the spell that this song has on its listeners.

Wow, just seeing this song being posted on the blog. A really peppy Lata & Rafi number, almost seems like a Asha & Rafi number :). Yippeeee!! Caravan (1971) joins the ranks of movies where all songs from the movies have been discussed on this blog. Thank you Atul Ji!
