Aaghaaz e muhabbat dekha hai anjaam e tamanna dekhenge

Posted on: April 16, 2013

“Ten O’clock” (1958) was a Niagara Pictures production movie. It was directed by Jugal Kishore. The movie had Suresh, Geeta Bali, Sheikh Mukhtaar, Yakoob, Mirza Musharraf, Maruti,Daisy Irani etc in it.

Here is a song from “Ten O”clock” (1958). While details about other songs of this movie are available, details about this song are hard to come by and whatever little is known appear incorrect.

This movie had Ram Ganguly as the music director and there were three lyricists in this movie. It is not known which of the three lyricists (Khaawar Zaman,Shyam Hindi,Verma Malik) wrote this song.

As for the singer, most sources mention this song as sung by Mukesh. On listening to the song, it is very clear that the voice is that of G M Durrani rather than Mukesh. I do not know how the name of Mukesh comes up for this song. The youtube entry for once seems to be correct where ther name of G M Durrani is mentioned.

The song is picturised on Suresh and Geeta Bali. I tried to get hold of the audio version of the song to ascertain whether the audio version was sung by Mukesh. I was not able to find the audio version on internet. On checking in my collection, I found that the audio that I had had the voice of G M Durrani, just as in the picturised version. Assuming that the audio that I have is actually ripped off from the movie track, we will need to ascertain from the record of this song whether the record version is actually sung by Mukesh. Otherwise the information about the singer of this song is required to be corrected in all online sources. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the singer as well as the lyricist of this song.
PS-Now Prakashchandra has pointed me to the audio of the song. The voice is that of G M Durrani there too. So most sources attributing this song to Mukesh need to correct it to G M Durrani.
PS-It is now confirmed by Mr Harmandir Singh Hamraz that the song is sung by G M Durrani and not by Mukesh. I thank Sudhir jee for his prompt action in getting the opinions of experts, viz Mr Harmandir Singh Hamraz and Mr Harish Raghuvanshi.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Song-Aaghaaz e muhabbat dekha hai anjaam e tamanna dekhenge (Ten O Clock)(1958) Singer-G M Durrani, MD-Ram Ganguly

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

aaghaaz-e-mohabbat dekha hai
aaghaaz-e-mohabbat dekha hai
anjaam-e-tamanna dekhenge
kiss shauq se dil ko basaayaa thha
ab isskaa ujadnaa dekhenge

saahil se to kashti leke chale ae ae ae
saahil se to kashti leke chale
majhdhaar mein laakar chhod bhi dee
haaye chhod bhi dee
ab teraa sahaaraa chhoot gayaa
ab teraa sahaaraa chhoot gayaa
lehron ka sahaaraa dekhenge
aaghaaz-e-mohabbat dekha hai
anjaam-e-tamanna dekhenge

aa dekh judaayi mein teri ee ee
aa dekh judaayi mein teri
jaltaa hai jigar
utthtaa hai dhuaan……
utthtaa hai dhuaan
jo aag lagaayee thhi usska
jo aag lagaayee thhi usska
jal jal ke tamaasha dekhenge
aaghaaz e mohabbat dekha hai
aaghaaz-e-mohabbat dekha hai
