Sapnon ki dor bandhi palkon ka paalna

Posted on: June 4, 2013

“Ghar Sansaar” (1958) was a Pushpa Pictures Production. It was produced by A A nadiadwala and directed by V M Vyas. The movie had Balraj Sahni, Nargis, Rajendra Kumar, Kumkum, Johnny Walker, Shammi, Kumari Naaz, Ansari, Baby Devika, Kathana, Krishnakant, Jilani, Mahabaleshwar, Parsuram, Iqbal, Alka, Master Nisar etc in it.

As many as five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from the movie. It is a lullaby song which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and picturised on Nargis and a young girl who I presume is baby Devika (going by the starcast).

S H Bihari is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

Song-Sapnon ki dor bandhi palkon ka paalna (Ghar Sansaar)(1958) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-S H Bihari, MD-Ravi

Lyrics (Provided by Atif M)

sapnon ki dor bandhi palkon ka paalna
soja meri raani mera kehna na taalna
sapnon ki dor bandhi palkon ka paalna
soja meri raani mera kehna na taalna
aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa

pariyon ke desh tohe nindiya pukaare
pariyon ke desh tohe nindiya pukaare
dekh rahe raah teri chanda sitaare
dekh rahe raah teri chanda sitaare
jhoom rahi ankhiyon mein nindiya deewaani
jhoom rahi
jhoom rahi ankhiyon mein nindiya deewaani
meethi meethi batiyon ka jaadu na daalna
soja meri raani mera kehna na taalna
sapnon ki dor bandhi palkon ka paalna
soja meri raani mera kehna na taalna
aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa

jaldi jo soye aur jaldi jo jaage
jaldi jo soye aur jaldi jo jaage
jeewan ki daud mein woh sabse rahe aage
jeewan ki daud mein woh sabse rahe aage
pyaara hai bachcha wohi kehna jo maane
pyaara hai
pyaara hai bachcha wohi kehna jo maane
jug jug jiye jhoole sone ke paalna
soja meri raani mera kehna na taalna
sapnon ki dor bandhi palkon ka paalna
soja meri raani mera kehna na taalna

This is one of many good loris. Asha takes the cake.

Lovely song! Now I have one more lori for my granddaughter, let me see if this turns out to be as effective as the ones I usually sing to her – Nanhi kali sone chali … and Tim tim karte taare …
