Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Mujhe aisa mila moti

Posted on: July 19, 2013

This article is written by Khyati Bhatt, a fellow enthusiast of Hindi movie music and a regular contributor to this blog.

Today, we all are celebrating a special day, the fifth birthday of our blog. Like all contributors and fans of this blog, I was also absent at the birth of this blog. The blog was already three years and four months old when I was introduced by a close friend of mine. The relationship grew stronger every day and now I feel proud and fortunate to be part of this family. I pray the Lord that this blog blooms every day and the fragrance of it’s blossom spreads everywhere.

I take the opportunity to thank Atulji and Rajaji for creating the blog. I don’t have enough words to thank Atulji for spending his valuable time everyday to keep this blog alive and fresh and also giving all of us the opportunity to share our joy and knowledge with all other Hindi music lovers. The amount of information we get from this blog is impossible to find anywhere else. If not on a vacation, my day begins with the Atulsongaday and while reading all the posts, listening to the songs, I feel as all fans of this blog are wishing me a Subh prabhat. I feel restlessness at night if I forget to visit the blog before I go to bed. Now, this has become a ritual of my daily life. 🙂

As an acknowledgement, I would like to share this song from Pighalta Aasmaan-85. The star cast includes Shashi Kapoor, Rakhee, Rati Agnihotri, Leela Mishra, A.K.Hungal, Deven Verma. The movie was produced and directed by Shammi. (Shammi auntie? Just guessing) All songs of this movie are penned by Indeevar and composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

Congratulations and best wishes to Atulji and his vast pariwaar on the globe. 🙂

Song-Mujhe aisa mila moti (Pighalta Aasmaan)(1985) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Indeewar, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics

aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa
mujhe aisa mila moti
aisa moti koi saagar mein na hoga
mujhe aisa mila moti
aisa moti koi saagar mein na hoga
mujhe aisa mila taara
aisa taara koi amber mein na hoga

tan jiska hai manbhaawan
man jiska paawan paawan
tan jiska hai manbhaawan
man jiska paawan paawan
aise wo mila jaise ki mile
pyaasi dharti ko saawan
mujhe aisa mila moti
aisa moti koi saagar mein na hoga
mujhe aisa mila taara
aisa taara koi amber mein na hoga

mehlon se main kab maani
daulat ko na daulat jaani
mehlon se main kab maani
daulat ko na daulat jaani
saara hi jahaan soorat dekhe
main seerat ki deewaani
mujhe aisa mila moti
aisa moti koi saagar mein na hoga
mujhe aisa mila taara
aisa taara koi amber mein na hoga

wo jafaa karen seh loongi
wo gila karen seh loongi
wo jafaa karen seh loongi
wo gila karen seh loongi
jis haal mein wo rakhhe mujhko
us haal mein main reh loongi
mujhe aisa mila moti
aisa moti koi saagar mein na hoga
mujhe aisa mila taara
aisa taara koi amber mein na hoga
hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm

Khyati ji,

Kya wonderful advantage hai aapke paas time zone ka. Yahaan par hum log next day ki tayyaarian kar rahe hain, aur aap abhi aaj ki celebration ko shubh prabhat hi keh rahe ho. 😀

Unless there is some fan in Alaska or in Hawaaii, you represent our groups most later part of the day across the globe.

Thanks for the lovely song. 🙂

Sudhirji,
Thanks for the appreciation.
Advantage to aap sab ko jyada hai, jo blog ke samay ke saath chal rahe ho. Yahan to agale din se hi pressure 😉 (should use tanaav) badhta ja raha hai, peeche jo chal rahe hain.

Thank you Khyati ji for the post and my favourite song.

All the songs of this movie are not written by Indeewar

1)Sadhana Sargam:(Must be her debut song)”Jiyaa naahin laagey”(written by Ila Arun)
2)Kishore,Alka Yagnik:”Teri meri prem kahani”(written by Maya Govind)

I know this fact, exactly because I had already sent the lyrics of above 2 songs to Atul ji, from this movie 🙂 🙂

Other songs:
3)Alka Yagnik,Sadhana sargam:”Hum se na sahi”(Indivar)
4)Manhar:”Humse na sahi(Indivar)
5)Alka Yagnik,Sadhana Sargam:”Jab ye dil ho jawaan”(Written by Anjaan)
6)Sadhana Sargam:”Jiya naahi laagey”(sad)(Ila Arun)

That makes 4 lyricists for the movie Indivar,Anjaan,Maya Govind,Ila arun.

Hope you don`t mind me writing this.

Prakashji,
Another proof of misleading info on few well established 😉 site I used. Thanks for the right info. (agyan roop andhere mein aap ke gyaan ka “Prakash” daal ne ke liye 🙂 ) I always thrive to get correct info, let it be on religion, philosophy, academic, health OR Hindi cinema. And like everybody has said and I also strongly believe that this blog makes us grow healthy by providing organic material. (no pesticide, no side effect) 🙂 And the grower of this farm (blog), is keeping eye on the quality of the products before serving all of us. Can’t deny that.
BTW, thanks for introducing new site, vinyl record. I hope it’s biodegradable. 😆 Just kidding.

I have never heard this song nor of this film…but I can tell you one thing this not the voice of Lata di. Please check…when I play this song, I do not have right feeling of Latadi voice.

This audio is definitely Lata, as the vinyl records also indicate. But the movie version I’m also not sure if its Lata. My feeling is its Alka Yagnik in the movie version.

Like

yes, that’s voice of Lata. I only watched video and wrote the comment.
thanx, bluefireji.

The song was very popular and I still remember every word of it.
No doubt, it’s Lataji only, in both the versions. Alka Yagnik has sung three duets in the movie (kindly read Prakshji’s detailed info above)
Just compare her voice with Lataji. The emotions that Lataji has carried in the song I doubt if any other female singer would have done it in a better way.

Khyatiji,

Video is definitely not Lata Mangeshkar. There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind.

FYI, many times it has happened that soundtrack and movie versions are sung by different singers.

I would advise u to listen them both again.

Regards.

Khyati ben,

there is no definitive answer to this. Sadhana Sargam also sung a different song in this movie, so her name would also appear in the movie credits. so that wont help u.

like i said b4, audio is 100% lata, no doubt whatsoever. the song starts with alaap and i dont even have to go any further to determine. My observation is that u can listen to the high pitch singing at different spots in the audio, which only lata can do (not even asha). I dont get the same feeling with the audio. In fact, i could feel nasal sound in the audio. I have known this for many yrs now that video is not lata, but i always thought it would be Alka. Now that i have listened to this song many times today, I get the feeling that its Sadhana Sargam (voice sounds similar to Sadhna’s voice from that era, for example, more ghar aaye sawariya, another Kalyanji composition from Imandaar 1987).

In any case, I like to thank both of u lovely ladies for this discussion.

Regards.

–sorry, i meant Video above.

Now its possible that its Sadhana Sargam and not Alka Yagnik. Both of them were too young and their voices had not matured yet, so I cant tell for sure which one. But audio is 100% Lata and video is 100% not Lata in my opinion.

Bluefireji, I definitely agree 100% …

One thing I had noticed while writing the lyrics of this song that the length of both the versions differ only by 13 seconds. In the video version, the song starts at 0:40 and lasts till 4:44 with just one set of humming (hum hum hum….), while in the audio, the song starts at 0:42 and last till 4:59 again with one humming (to compare) and continues for the second set of hum hum…. So the difference is just 13 seconds. Also, the video does sound little faster than audio. So, the chances of different recording are there. I am not familiar with Sadhna Sargam’s voice, so can’t tell the difference. Sadhna Sargam has sung three songs in this film though. If someone has the video of the movie, then we can find name of the singer in the title. Lataji has sung only one song (at least in the audio version) The question is, who is going to help? Prakashji, Arunji, Sudhirji, anybody. Please….
I just want to know the real fact.

When this song came out I remember thinking that it didnt sound like the lata of 1985 but Lata in the late 1960s. I think the audio is closer to 1985 and the video is of her singing the song in a much earlier era

The voice in this video is lata, I am 100% sure

And also it is Lata in the above video attached to the post. May be an old recorded song, added to the movie.

But It is Lata in both versions.
