“Baabuji” (1950) was an Udaya Pictures Production. It was directed by Bhagwan. the movie had Bhagwan, Munawwar Sultana, Leela Gupte, Amar, A. Shah, Jankidas etc in it.
From the above sketchy information, this movie appears to be a small budget comedy movie.
Here is a “roothna manaana” genre of song from the movie. It is sung by Sulochana Kadam and C Ramchandra. Ehsan Rizvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by P Ramakant.
Only the audio of this song is available. It seems almost certain that the song was picturised on Munawwar Sultana and Bhagwan. I request our knowledgeable readers to confirm/ refute my guess about the picturisation of this song.
Our beloved inhouse encyclopaedia Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh is these days discussing songs sung by music directors for other music directors. He had recently discussed a duet song sung by C Ramchandra (with Asha Bhonsle) for Roshan. this song is another example of a Duet song sung by C Ramchandra for another music director. C Ramchandra was mainly known as a music director, but it is clear that he had sung a decent number of songs as well. This song is the 62nd song of C Ramchandra in this blog. I look forward to the day when C Ramchandra completes his century in this blog as a singer. He has already completed his century as a music director in the blog and his tally as a music director stands at an impressive 288 at present.

Lyrics(Provided by Avinash Scrapwala)
Zaraa sunte jaana ho o
zaraa sunte jaana
ho
do dilon ka afsaana
zaraa sunte jaana
meri baaton ka tum kuchh
bura na manaana
meri baaton ka tum kuchh
bura na manaana
zaraa sunte jaana ho o
zaraa sunte jaana
ho
do dilon ka afsaana
zaraa sunte jaana
baat buri ho
ya bhali
ab sun’na nahin zaroori
baat buri ho
ya bhali
ab sun’na nahin zaroori
pehle tumhe thhi majboori
pehle tumhe thhi majboori
ab mujhe bhi hai majboori
meethi meethi
meethi meethi baatein apni
mujhe na sunaana
zaraa sunte jaana ho o
zaraa sunte jaana
ho
do dilon ka afsaana
zaraa sunte jaana
kal ka jhagdaa aaj ka milna
kal ka jhagdaa aaj ka milna
samay samay ki baat
kabhi ke lambe din hote hain
kabhi ki lambi raat
kabhi ke lambe din hote hain
kabhi ki lambi raat
jeewan ka sukh ban jaata hai
rooth ke mil jaana
jeewan ka sukh ban jaata hai
rooth ke mil jaana
zaraa sunte jaana ho o
zaraa sunte jaana
ho
do dilon ka afsaana
zaraa sunte jaana
roz roz ke jhagde mein to
niklegaa deewaala
roz roz ke jhagde mein to
niklegaa deewaala
bol-baala pyaar ka hai
jhagde ka munh kaala
waada kar ke
waada kar ke pyaar ka
mat waade se phir jaana
zaraa sunte jaana ho o
zaraa sunte jaana
ho
do dilon ka afsaana
zaraa sunte jaana

Moghe sahib, I was planning to write exactly the same thing. Any info on P. Ramakant? Seems to me it’s just another name used by CR, ’cause the music is exactly as per his style, I for one have little doubt that he composed the music for this song. Thanks for posting……
