Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Hey Ganpati bappa moriya

Posted on: September 9, 2013

“Pujaarin” (1969) was a Mayur production movie. It was directed by Dhirubai Desai. The movie had Vijay Dutt, Rehana Sultan, Pratap, Shanaaz, Niranjan Sharma, Sadhana Khote, Monto,Bhagwan Sinha, Jay Kajaria etc in it.

This obscure and forgotten movie had a song devoted to Lord Ganesh. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi today (9 september 2013), here is that song. The song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and chorus. Madan (also known as Madan Bharti) is the lyricist. Music is composed by Narayan Dutt (not to be confused with N Datta).

The lip syncing actor has been identified as Jay kajaria is a YT comment. The picturisation also shows a bedridden Rehana Sultan who is shown dragging herself out of her bed and home to somewhere, with no one evennoticing. By the end of the song, she gets healed and even gets reunited with the hero.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Wah Prakash ji wah !!! many thanks for this song. One from my wish list. Had been searching for it for many years, as it was quite frequent on loud speakers during those years, when i was growing !! (even i had mentioned it in my initial comments on this blog, but was not aware of the film. Actually i thought it was a NFS).
Well, now it is there 🙂

Thanks a L O T !!!

and THANKS to Atul ji for posting this.

Thank you Avinash ji for thanking me 🙂

Atul ji

I think “Gaj Badan” should be “Gaja Vadan”(means “elephant face”)

Regards
Prakash
