Today (3 november 2013) is the festival of Deepaawali, which is easily India’s biggest festival. It is interesting to realise that this is the sixth deepaawali festival for this blog.
Most well known Deepaawali festival songs of Hindi movies have been discussed on the past five occasions. However, we still have songs available for the occasion taht we will discuss on this occasion.
Here is a rare deepaawali song from “Stage” (1951). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and chorus. Sarshar Sailaani is the lyricist. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram.
This movie was a Jeewan Pictures production. The movie was directed by Vijay Mhatre. THe movie had Dev Anand, Ramola, Sunder, Cuckoo, Ramsingh, Kuldip Kaur, Gulab, Raj Mehra, Mubarak etc in it.
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Thanks Atulji for posting this very good deewail song. I wonder why a not very rare deewali song,deep jale ghar ghar men aai deewali- lata shaminder- ghar ghar men deewali- roshan does not appear on our blog. Kindly post it for my sake as I like shaminder’s voice very much.
