“Jhumroo”(1961) was a Kishore Kumar production movie though officially it was a K S Production movie which was directed by Shankar Mukherji. I wonder what K S stood for. The movie had several family members of Kishore Kumar present in it, viz. Kishore Kumar, Madhubala, Anoop Kumar, Chanchal etc. In addition, the movie also had Lalita Pawar, Sajjan, K N Singh, Jayant, Kumar etc in it.

Kishore Kumar turned a music director for the first time in his career with this movie. And the songs of this movie were all wonderful songs. All the songs were intricate songs (for those noting down the lyrics) as these songs were full of chorus singing, anokhe bol, yodelling etc in them.

Six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh song from the movie. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar, Usha Mangeshkar and chorus. The song is penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

The song is picturised as an archtypical tribal dance where lots of female dancers sing and dance and the tribal chief announces in advance that the female dancer who garlands Kishore Kumar gets to marry him.

Here is this fantastic fast paced song from “Jhumroo”(1961). Unlike some other songs from this movie, this was a song that I had never heard before. And I find that Usha Mangeshkar does a great job singing this kind of song which is widely considered a preserve of Asha Bhonsle.

Good orchestra, Good picturisation, good dance. Lalita Pawar and Chanchal can be seen. Must have spent a packet.

I beg to differ.
In the first para the poet is talking about the door of the beloved, whereas in the second example the poet is talking about the world in general where you have got to earn your living.
