“Geet” (1944) was produced by A R Kardar and directed by S U Sunny. The movie had Chanda, Shahu Modak, Nirmala, Amir Ali, Shakir Ali, A Shah, Zahid Ali etc in it.

Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth song from “Geet”(1944) to appear in the blog. This song, like several other songs in the movie, is sung by Nirmala Devi. Lyricist is not known. Music is composed by Naushad.

Only the audio of this song is available. It is clear that the song was picturised on Nirmala Devi herself.

I like Nirmala Devi’s singing. I have collected quite a few of her thumries, folk-songs and gazals.
By the way it is “jab moray naina BHAR aayenge” (not ‘ghar’) in the first antara of the song
