“Amar Asha”(1947) was directed by V M Vyas for Sunrise Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Paro Devi, Umakant, Sitara, Ghulam Mohammad (actor), Pratima Devi, Pandey, Amir Bano, Babu Raje, Radha, Ma Wazir, Mumtaz etc in it.

This obscure movie had eight songs in it. Here is the first song from “Amar Asha”(1947) to appear in the blog. This song is a forgotten gem. It is sung by Paro Devi. Kabi Amritsari is the lyricist of this ghazal. Music is composed by Shanti Kumar Desai.

Only the audio of this song is available. It is clear that the song was picturised on Paro Devi herself.

With this song, “Amar Asha”(1947) makes its debut in the blog.

Song-Mohabbat jataane ko jee chaahta hai (Amar Asha)(1947) Singer-Paro Devi, Lyrics-Kabil Amritsari, MD-Shanti Kumar Desai

Muhabbat jataane ko o
jee chaahta hai
jee chaahta hai
jawaani lutaane ko
jee chaahta hai
jee chaahta hai

jise dekh le tu u u u
bana de sharaabi
bana de sharaabi
nazar aazmaane ko
jee chaahta hai
jee chaahta hai

na jaane mere dil ko o o
kya ho gaya hai
kya ho gaya hai
tere naaz uthhaane ko
tere naaz uthhaane ko
jee chaahta hai
jee chaahta hai

mohabbat ka jaadoo u u u u u u u
mohabbat ka jaadoo u u u
idhar bhi udhar bhi
idhar bhi udhar bhi
qayaamat uthhaane ko
jee chaahta hai
jee chaahta hai

jawaani lutaane ko
jawaani lutaane ko
jee chaahta hai
jee chaahta hai
Muhabbat jataane ko
jee chaahta hai
jee chaahta hai
