“Garib”(1942) was directed by Ramchandra Thakur for National Studios, Bombay. This movie had Surendra, Rose, Baby Meena, Veena Kumari, Santaka, N A Ansari, Agha, Pesi Patel etc in it.
Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the third song from “Garib”(1942) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Surendra. Safdar Aah Sitapuri is the lyricist. There were two music directors in this movie, namely Anil Biswas and Ashok Ghosh. This song was composed by Ashok Ghosh.
Only the audio of this song is available but it is clear that this “remonstrating with the Almighty” song was picturised on Surendra himself.

Lyrics
Tera jag dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
dekh liya
dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
dekh liya
dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
isi shobha ke dikhaane ko hamen bheja thha
isi shobha ke dikhaane ko hamen bheja thha
is duniya ke dikhaane ko hamen bheja thha
is duniya ke dikhaane ko hamen bheja tha
tera jag dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
dekh liya
dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
patte patte mein yahaan
maut ki tasveeren hain
jis taraf dekhiye
phaili huyi zanjeeren hain
kahin aahon ka dhuaan
aur kahin aansoo ki tari
kahin aahon ka dhuaan
aur kahin aansoo ki tari
saare sansaar mein hai dard ki aawaaz bhari
saare sansaar mein hai dard ki aaawaaz bhari
tera jag dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
dekh liya
dekh liya
tera jag dekh liya
