Film “Naya Andaaz” (1956) was produced and directed by K.Amarnath for K Amarnath productions, Bombay. This movie was a remake of his own “Bazaar”(1949).

“Naya Andaaz” (1956) had Kishore Kumar, Meena Kumari, Johny Walker, Gope, Pran, Kumkum, Murad, Jayant, Ramesh Thakur, Uma Devi, Sapru etc in it.

Ten songs from the movie have been discussed in the past.

Here is the eleventh and final song from “Naya Andaaz”(1956) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar. Jaan Nisaar Akhtar is the lyricist. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.

This song is picturised on Kishore Kumar with Johny Walker and another person playing as his colleagues. Kishore Kumar sings this song, he is accompanied on harmonium by Johny Walker while the other one plays dholak. Audience who have gathered to listen to the rival music group performance turn their attention to this performance while the rival group managers- Pran and another individual, look on with concern.

This song has got to be one of the most memorable Kishore Kumar songs during his version 1.0 days. The harmonium and dholak players in the orchestra have excelled as well. This is one O P Nayyar composition that sounds refreshingly different from the usual O P Nayyar compositions.

This is a superb song from a movie that was bursting at the seams with great compositions.

With this song, “Naya Andaaz”(1956) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog. This also happens to be the 400th song in the blog from movies of 1956. To put things in perspective, 765 songs were composed in Hindi movies released that year. So 52 % of the songs of 1956 are covered in the blog by now.

Song-Mehfil mein aaj teri deewaane aa gaye hain (Naya Andaaz)(1956) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Jaan Nisaar Akhtar, MD-O P Nayyar

Lyrics

mehfil mein aaj teri ee ee
deewaane aa gaye hain
mehfil mein aaj teri
deewaane aa gaye hain
le kar dil o jigar ke ae
najraane aa gaye hain
le kar dil o jigar ke
najraane aa gaye hain
mehfil mein aaj teri
deewaane aa gaye hain

haan aan aan
maara hai teer toone
dil ke kareeb aa kar
ghaayal bana diya hai
hamko nazar mila kar
hum bhi
tujhe tadap kar
tadpaane aa gaye hain
hum bhi tujhe tadap kar
tadpaane aa gaye hain
mehfil mein aaj teri
deewaane aa gaye hain

tere liye mohabbat
kab se bhatak rahi hai
jo aag apne dil mein
zaalim bhadak rahi hai
wo aag tere dil mein aen
bhadkaane aa gaye hain
wo aag tere dil mein
bhadkaane aa gaye hain
mehfil mein aaj teri
deewaane aa gaye hain

sau baar reh gaye hum
kuchh tujhse kehte kehte
sau baar reh gaye hum
kuchh tujhse kehte kehte
sau baar reh gaye hum
kuchh tujhse kehte kehte
dam ghut chala hai apna
khaamosh rehte rehte ae
dam ghut chala hai apna
khaamosh rehte rehte
honthon pe aaj dil ke ae
afsaane aa gaye hain
honthon pe aaj dil ke
afsaane aa gaye hain
mehfil mein aaj teri
deewaane aa gaye hain

aankhen churaane waale
ae ae ae
ae ae ae
aankhen churaane waale
tujhko pata nahin hai
aankhen churaane waale
tujhko pata nahin hai
bin pyaar zindagi ka
koi maza nahin hai ae
bin pyaar zindagi ka
koi maza nahin hai
itni si baat tujhko
samjhaane aa gaye hain
itni si baat tujhko
samjhaane aa gaye hain
mehfil mein aaj teri
deewaane aa gaye hain

mehfil mein aaj teri
deewaane aa gaye hai
le kar dil o jigar ke
najraane aa gaye hain
mehfil
