“Chhaila Baabu”(1967) is often confused with “Chhaila Baabu”(1977). While the later was a Rajesh Khanna movie, “Chhaila Baabu”(1967) was a small budget movie that began in early 1960s. Financial and other thoubles delayed its release and it was finally released only in 1967.
This movie was directed by K Parvez for R H Mullan Productions, Bombay.
This movie had Naaz, Subbiraj, Zeb Rehman, Bhagwan, Ranjana Kadam, Rajendranath Salim Khan, Sheikh, Meenakshi, Shaam Kumar, S N Bannerji, Leela Mishra, Wazir Muhammad Khan, Tuntun, Ridku, Lotan etc in it.
The makers of this movie had signed up a new pair of music directors called Laxxmikant Pyarelal. Their “Parasmani”(1963) got released first and taht movie is pupularly regarded as their first movie as independent music directors, but “Chhaila Baabu”(1967) was the first assignment that they signed as music directors.
The movie had only four songs in it. These four songs were sung by five singers. These four songs were penned by three lyricists. What is more, all the four songs were picturised on different sets of actors. So it seems to me that this movie somehow satisfies the criteria of 1-2-3-4-5 that we were looking for while seaching a suitable song for song post number 12345. This is ONE movie with TWO music directors, THREE lyricists, FOUR songs and FIVE singers. 🙂
Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the blog. Those three songs were sung by Mukesh, Rafi and Lata. These three songs are well known songs and are readily available songs.
Here is the fourth and final song from “Chhaila Baabu”(1967) to appear in the blog. For some reason, it is not readily available online. This is a delightful song to listen to and watch. This song is sung by C Ramchandra and Asha Bhonsle, Taj Bhopali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
This song is picturised on Bhagwan and Ranjana Kadam as a delightful dance song. What more does one need in a song !
With this song, “Chhaila Baabu”(1967) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Lyrics
tum sanwarte ho to ham darte hain
ho o
tum sanwarte ho to ham darte hain
arre in adaaon pe
arre
in adaaon pe
sabhi ee ee
marte hain aen aen aen aen
dekho ji
behke na chaal
sambhaal ke
dekho ji
behke na chaal
sambhaal ke
raste mein dilwaale laakhon pade hain
raste mein dilwaale laakhon pade hain
aata hai kya kya khayaal
sambhaal ke
dekho ji
behke na chaal
sambhaal ke
aa aa aa aa aa
naina haseenon pe daal
sambhaal ke
gaalon pe til waale
chanchal bade hain
gaalon pe til waale
chanchal bade hain
aata hai kya kya khayaal
sambhaal ke
dekho ji
behke na chaal
sambhaal ke
tere honthon pe dil ki laali
gore maathhe pe kaala teekaa
chaal jaise nashe ki lehren
tan jaise sharaabi sheesha
koi pee na jaaye yaar
tumhen pyaale mein dhaal ke
mere chhalakte gulaal
sambhaal ke
dekho ji behke na chaal
sambhaal ke
buri hoti hai zulfon waalin
piya maano hamaara kehna
inhen jaadoo ki hirni samjho
ke hain inke bade bade naina
koi chal de nahin dekh
kaajal mein dhhaal ke
baalamwa dil ko uchhaal
sambhaal ke
naina haseenon pe daal
sambhaal ke
jag dushman hua tab jaa ke
mila tera nazaara mujh ko
tujhe mere siwa koi dekhe
nahin ye bhi gawaara mujhko
sanam aaya karo paas zara
paayal nikaal ke
patli kamar lambe baal
sambhaal ke
dekho ji behke na chaal
sambhaal ke
raste mein dil waale laakhon pade hain
gaalon pe til waale
chanchal bade hain
aata hai kya kya khayaal
sambhaal ke
dekho ji behke na chaal
sambhaal ke
