“Hongkong”(1962) was directed by Paachhi for Paachi Productions, Bombay. This movie had Ashok Kumar, B Saroja Devi, K N Singh, Helen, Bhalla, Babu Rao, Kitty, King, Doctor, Balram, Kundan, Om Prakash etc in it.

This movie had nine songs in it. Six songs from the movie have been discussed in the blog in the past.

Here is the seventh song from “Hongkong”(1962) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.

The movie had three lyricists in it. HFGK does not mention the lyricist for this song.

The song is picturised on Helen as a beach song, where she is seen wooing Omprakash. This movie was Om Prakash’s home production movie, remember ! 🙂

I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the lyricist of this song.

The audio has the complete song. The video is partial and there are some difference in lyrics in the video version. I have provided lyrics according to the audio version of the song.

Song-Ye zulfen aawaara luta zamaana saara(Hongkong)(1962) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics – Qamar Jalaalabaadi, MD-OP Nayyar

aa ha
aa ha
aa ha
aa ha
aa ha
aa ha
aa ha
yeh zulfein aawaara
luta zamaana saara
yeh zulfein aawaara
luta zamaana saara
dilwaalon mein shor mach gaya
wo maara wo maara
yeh zulfein aawaara aa

har aashiq ne hai bheja mujhko ho
ulfat ka paighaam
apne dil ke board pe maine
likh diya tera naam
dilwaalon mein shor mach gaya
wo maara wo maara
yeh zulfein aawaara
luta zamaana saara
dilwaalon mein shor mach gaya
wo maara wo maara
yeh zulfein aawaara aa

ghoom ke aayi hi
cheen malaaya ha
paris aur jaapaan
kahin na dekha jaalim tujhsa nikhra hua jawaan
dilwaalon mein shor mach gaya
wo maara wo maara
yeh zulfein aawaara
luta zamaana saara
dilwaalon mein shor mach gaya
wo maara wo maara
yeh zulfein aawaara aa aa
