“Nai Zindagi”(1943) was directed by S Khalil for United Films, Bombay. This “social” movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Anees Khatoon, Yakoob, Satish, Gope, Najma, Qamar, laddan, Nazeera, Aghajaan, Badri, Akhtar Zia etc in it.
This by now forgotten movie had nine songs in it that have become as obscure as the movie.
Here is the first song from “Nai Zindagi”(1943) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Anees Khatoon. Hazrat Aarzoo aka Aarzoo Lucknowi, is the lyricist. Music is composed by Vasant Kumar Naidu.
Only the audio of the song is available. seeing that Aneesa Khatoon was the leading lady of this movie, it follows that this song was picturised on herself.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this movie.
I have not been able to get one word (may be more) right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections in the lyrics as applicable.

Hazrat Aarzoo is the same poet who is also known as Arzoo Lucknawi, Munshi Aarzoo etc. This song may please be included under the tag ‘Aarzoo Lucknawi’ for statistical purpose.
