“Bhed” (1950) was an an Amba Cinetone (Jal K Baliwaala productions), Bombay presentation. Details of its producer, director, actors etc are not available. Total number of songs in the movie are not known. HFGK gives a list of nine songs and indicates that there may have been more songs in it whose details are not available.

I find that there was a movie called “Do Bahaadur”(1953) which reused at least five songs from “Bhed””(1950). In addition, at least one song from “Ustaad Pedro” (1951) was reused in “Do Bahaadur” (1953). So it is a curious case where contents of past movies (songs, and may be other parts as well) were reused in a later movie. We have noticed in in some other cases as well. For instance, the songs of “Amar Kahaani” (1949) were reused in “Kanchan” (1955). “Amar Kahaani” (1949) had Suraiyya in lead role and she sang her songs there. She was not there in “Kanchan”(1955) though and there her songs were lip synced by another actress.

In other words, “Do Bahaadur”(1953), “Kanchan”(1955) etc are movies that do not have any “original” songs of their own. So we in this blog have avoided describing songs as belonging to these movies.

One song from “Bhed”(1950) has been discussed in the past. Here is the second song from the movie to appear in the blog. This “remonstrating with the Almighty” genre of song is sung by Geeta Dutt (then Roy). Madhukar Rajasthani is the lyricist. Music is composed by Mukul Roy,

Same song was later reused in “Do Bahaadur”(1953) as well though HFGK (part III) has not identified the singer (describing her as a female singer) and likewise the lyricist too has gone unidentified in HFGK in part III. They were duly identified in HFGK part II though for entries against “Bhed”(1950).

The artists of “Bhed”(1950) are not known. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this obscure movie as also on the picturisation of this song.
