“Raadha Aur Seeta”(1979) was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and directed by Vijay Kapoor for Rajshree Productions, Bombay. The movie had Arun Govil, Reeta Bhaduri, Madan Puri, Leela, Rajendra Nath, Abha Dhulia etc in it.
This movie sounds like a typical Rajshree Productions movie of those days made on the lines of “Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye”(1977). While “Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye”(1977) was a monster hit, most of the copycat movies that Rajshree productions came up with failed to create the same magic. After “Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye”(1977), I went to watch Rajshree Productions next offering “Paheli” (1978), expecting the same high standards and I was badly let down. “Raadha Aur Seeta”(1979) came next and I natually did not watch it. I was in fact barely aware of this movie and its songs. However, I watched some moree Rajshree Productions movies later, but that was mainly for their blockbuster music. These movies were “Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon se” (1978) and “Saawan Ko Aane Do” (1980). Two subsequent Rajshree movie that I liked for their story as well as music were “Sunayna” (1979) and “Nadiya Ke Paar” (1982).
Today (10 january 2018) is the 77th birth anniversary of Yesudas. I was looking for a Yesudas song to discuss on this occasion. Though it was Salil Chaudhary who introduced Yesudas in Hindi movies, it was Ravindra Jain who used Yesudas the most in Hindi movies and got the best out of him in his compositions. I have already covered many well known Yesudas songs under the baton of Ravindra Jain. I looked for Ravindra Jain compositions hoping to find a Yesudas song that is not yet covered. I was immediately in luck as I found this song from “Raadha Aur Seeta”(1979).
This song is a piano song where the hero sits at the grand piano and sings a song that is basically an expression of love song addressed to the heroine who happens to be leaning against the said grand piano. Elders in the family and others are dutifully present on the occasion.
The song is sung by Yesudas and Hemlata. Ravindra Jain is the lyricist as well as the music director. The song is picturised on Arun Govil and Reeta Bhaduri. Elders like Madan Puri, Leela Mishra etc are present and look on indulgently.
We wish Yesudas a very happy birthday and many happy returns of the day. What a sweet and joyous song it is. A hidden gem of a song indeed.

Lyrics
kaun hai aisa jise phoolon se
geeton se
panchhiyon se pyaar na ho
kaun hai aisa jise phoolon se
geeton se
panchhiyon se pyaar na ho
kaun hai aisa jise phoolon se
geeton se panchiyon se pyaar na ho
pyaar ke bina poora koi sringaar na ho
kaun hai aisa jise phoolon se
geeton se
panchhiyon se pyaar na ho
jeewan hai phool
man ek panchhi
saans saans mein geet re
man panchhi phir udna na chaahe
le jo use koi jeet re
jeena re wo kaisa agar kisi pe apna koi adhikaar na ho
kaun hai aisa jise phoolon se
geeton se
panchhiyon se pyaar na ho
is anjaane shahar mein aake
man kitna bechain thha
kisko khabar thhi inhi galiyon mein
chhupa mere dil ka chain thha
khushi to khushi hai
us khushi ka honthon se chaahe izhaar na ho
kaun hai aisa jise phoolon se
geeton se panchhiyon se pyaar na ho
pahle pahal jab mujhse mile thhe
tum kitne hairaan thhe
tum meri main tumhari najar mein
dono hi naadaan thhe
mere humdum aisi galti hamse phir is baar na ho
pyaar ke bina poora koi sringaar na ho o o
kaun hai aisa jise phoolon se
geeton se
panchhiyon se pyaar na ho

Viewing this video reminded me of very old memory of Rita along with his two sisters (Raka and Ruma) and mother Chandrima Bhaduri, who were my neighbor in Goregaon. I searched for her number and called her. She was delighted to talked to me and asked about my children and other things. Thanks Atulbhai for this surprise.

I think i have heard this song a long time ago. or it must be the Ravindra Jain- Yesudas combination at work and this song being in the same mould as songs from “Saawan Ko Aane Do”. but it is possible i have heard this before. melodious and straight forward
