“Jawaahar”(1960) was a “social” movie which was made by Kuldeep Productions, Bombay. Names of producer, director and actors of the movie are not available on HFGK. THankfully, details of the songs of the movie are avaialable.

The movie had five songs in it, and they were as rare as the movie. May be less rare than the movie in the sense that these songs are at least available.

Three songs from the movie have been covered in the past.

Here is the fourth song from “Jawaahar”(1960) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Salil Chaudhary.

Only the audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of the song.

Song-Jaane kahaan khoya mera laal (Jawahar)(1960) Singer-Lata, PLyrics-rem Dhawan, MD-Salil Chaudhary

Lyrics

jaane kahaan khoya mera laal
khoya mera laal
teri khoj mein rote rote
yoon hi beet gaye kayi saal
teri khoj mein rote rote
yoon hi beet gaye kayi saal
jaane kahaan khoya mera laal aal
khoya mera laal

galiyon ki dhool bani ee ee ee
meri zindagaani
koi to bataao
mere laal ki nishaani ee ee
haay re
na jaane kyun chup hai ye dharti
chup hai gagan vishaal
na jaane kyun chup hai ye dharti
chup hai gagan vishaal
jaane kahaan khoya mera laal aal
khoya mera laal

kahaan kahaan dhhoondhe tohe
mamta ki maari
kahaan jag saara
kahaan main dukhiyaari
kabhi kahoon aaj mera aa aa aa
laal hai yahaan
kabhi kahoon aise mere
bhaag kahaan aa aa aa
haay re
isi aasha aur niraasha mein
hain beet gaye kayi saal
isi aasha aur niraasha mein
hain beet gaye kayi saal
jaane kahaan khoya mera laal aal
khoya mera laal
teri khoj mein rote rote
yoon hi beet gaye kayi saal
teri khoj mein rote rote
yoon hi beet gaye kayi saal

Atul ji,
Kuldeep Productions was owned by Kuldeep Sehgal who appears to be more of a financier than producer. Most of the films under his banner was produced and directed by Lekh Raj Bhakri which I had noted in my article on Mulk Raj Bhakri, producer-director-lyricist and one of the brothers of Lekh Raj Bhakri. But in my list of films in the article in the context of Lekh Raj Bhakri, the film ‘Jawaahar’ (1960) was not mentioned as I did not know at that time the details of the film.

Now I could find the details of the film at http://osianama.com/film-titles/jawahar-1960?search=Jawahar%201960. As I expected, the film was produced by Lekh Raj Bhakri. The name of the director is not mentioned but I have a hunch that he may have directed the film. The cast included Balraj Sahani, Mala Sinha, Sulochana Latkar, Leela Mishra, Brahm Bhardwaj. The star cast can be identified by the still photographs available on above-mentioned link.
