Today’s song is from the ‘1963’ movie ‘Kan Kan Mein Bhagwaan’.
I have in past written about how I find some songs which were embedded in my impressionable mind in the childhood, either because of watching some movies or listening the songs on Radio.
Today’s song is one such song.
I had in my earlier post here mentioned that I had watched this movie ‘Kan Kan Mein Bhagwaan-1963’ when I was growing and have forgotten it now.
But I was always remembering this movie’s title and couple of its songs, and I was always looking for them.
So last year when I presented a song from this movie, I also go through the list of the other songs from this movie just out of interest. I did not listen to the remaining songs then.
Now, deviating from today’s post a little, I would like to mention one other song also from a mythological movie that I was vaguely remembering was ‘shankar bhole
bhaale shail bihaari, dam dam dam dam dmru baaje, traahimaam, traahimaam’.
I was sure that I had watched the movie where this song was there in my growing years.
I was always looking for this song and the only thing I remember was Dara Singh playing the Shivji’s role.
Few years back this song ‘shankar bhole bhaale shail bihaari’ was posted on the blog on 07.03.2016. But this did not contain the words ‘traahimaam traahimaam’. Four years later I presented a song ‘bolo shiv shiv shambhu bam bam bam’ from the movie ‘Har Har Mahadev-1974’. It also didn’t contain the words ‘traahimaam traahimaam’. Then the ‘dam dam dam damru baje’ words were also not there, and I thought that I may have, in my growing years, mixed-up with songs from the above movies and with a song from ‘Shirdi Ke Sai Baba’ which is another movie I have a nostalgia associated with it. There is a song in this movie ‘Dam Dam Dam Dam Damru baje’.
Now we come back to today’s post. About a month back when ‘shraavan’ month was about to start I started looking suitable songs to share on the blog. Also, I was looking for movies where few songs were required to ‘Yippeeee’ them on the blog.
Normally during this period of the year (i.e. shraavan month and later Ganpati festival) I am always reminded of some mythological and other movies which I had watched when I was growing.
Last year around the same time I had presented a song from ‘Kan Kan Mein Bhagwaan’. The song was posted on 07.08.2020. Whatever songs from this movie have been posted on the blog are good songs and I like them very much.
I was remembering that there is a ‘naag-devtaa’ song in this movie. I thought I would present it on ‘Naag Panchami’ and if not on that day, I would share it in this month of ‘shraavan’ at least.
So, I take a chance to listen remaining songs from this movie and came across the today’s song. And finally, I got this ‘traahimaam …’ which actually is ‘traahimaam
Paahimaam’ 😊
‘Kan Kan Mein Bhagwaan-1963’ was directed by Babubhai Mistry for ‘Roopkalaa Pictures’. It was produced by Mahipatray Shah. It had Anita Guha, Mahipal, with Ramsingh, Krishnakumari, Kummo Tripathi, and Raja Nene. They were supported by Ratnamala, T.N. Sinha, Prakash, Yunus Parwez, Mridula, Punam Kapoor, Baijnath, Ajit, Rehana, Uma Dutt, R.S. Dube, Munshi, Shekhar, Chand, Devchand, Lal Bahadur, Kishore, Dilawar Khan, Baby Chand, Burhan, Jugal Kishore, Dinanath, Vijay Kumar and Master Aziz.
The story of this movie was written by Vishwanath Pande, C.K. Mast, Pandit Madhur, and S.M. Abbas.
Editing of this movie was done by Ramchandra Mahadik.
‘Kan Kan Mein Bhagwan-1963’ had nine songs, all written by Pandit Bharat Vyas. The music was composed by Pandit Shivaram.
Mahendra Kapoor, Manna Dey, Mukesh and Suman Kalyanpur had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
Mahendra Kapoor had sung six solo songs in this movie and two of them have been posted on the blog so far. That gives us four solo songs more by Mahendra Kapoor to be posted on the blog.
Today we are going to listen one of them.
Manna Dey had sung one solo and Mukesh had one duet with Suman Kalyanpur which has also been posted on the blog. Suman Kalyanpur had solo song other than the duet with Mukesh which has also been posted on the blog.
Following is the list of the songs of this movie as appearing in the HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970).

01 | Sabko naach nachaane waala | 24.11.2011 |

08 | Ho o naag devtaa traahimaam paahimam | Being presented today |
09 | Kan kan mein bhagwaan |
As mentioned above today we listen to a song sung by Mahendra Kapoor which on screen is lip-synced by Mahipal (I have always loved watching him on the screen).
From the picturisation of the song I guess that the King’s (Yunus Parwez) son (Master Aziz) is very sick or maybe he has lost his life (because of snake-bite) and all efforts to revive him are failed. And so finally Mahipal is praying ‘Naag devtaa’ to bring back the child’s life. ‘Naag devtaa’ finally saves the child.
The video of this song is little longer and includes conversation which I have not included in the lyrics.
Let us now listen and enjoy one more song from ‘Kan Kan Mein Bhagwaan’.
(I would like to see this movie moving to ‘Yippeeee-land’ as early as possible 😊 )
