Blog Day :

5117 Post No. : 17065

The auspicious month of ‘saawan’ has already begun in some parts of the country (specially the ‘northern parts’).
As has been said in many earlier posts on the blog this is the month which is ‘musically important’ season as many festivals come during this season and there have been songs based on them in Hindi movies. Then many traditions like hanging the ‘swing’ on the trees and singing folklores and folksongs is also followed in may parts of the country.

Then there are ‘love songs’, ‘milna-bichhadnaa-judaai’ songs, and many ‘virah-geets’ for the lovers who left their places for job and staying far-away, have also been composed in our films. The month of ‘saawan’ brings back many memories and remind us of those many ‘saawan’ song in Hindi movies.

On the blog we already have more than one hundred songs in the category of ‘saawan songs.’

Today I am adding one more ‘saawan’ song on the blog. The video of this song is not available, but it seems to be a song played on the arrival of the ‘saawan’ or welcoming the ‘saawan’.

This song is from the movie “Jhoom Uthaa Aakaash-1973”.

‘Jhoom Uthaa Aakaash-1973’ was directed by Y.N. Kapoor for ‘Bahaar-Milan Productions’.

It had Sujit Kumar, Lakshmichhaaya, Anita, Rajdeep, Bharat Bhushan, Tiwari, Abhi Bhattacharya, Randhir, Mohan Choti, Jhankana Desai, Nana Palsikar, Bramhachari, Rajraani, Kalpana Diwan, Uma Khosla, Geeta Kapoor, Soni, Koki, S.M. Akhtar, Master Deepak, Master Dinkar, Ravi Bhatnagar, Ambar Kumar, Yogesh Kapoor, and others.

This movie seems to an obscure movie of its time. However, audio of its songs is available on internet which are uploaded by enthusiastic music lovers.

This movie had seven songs written by Siraj Aghazi (five songs) and Atish Jalali (two songs).
Music for this movie was composed by Kanti Kiran.

Mohd Rafi, Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor, Mukesh, Hemlata, and Krishna Kalle had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

Here is the list of songs of this movie.

SNo. Song Title Lyricist Singer/s Posted On

Today’s song is the third song from this movie to be posted on the blog.

Today’s song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Hemlata. Only the audio of this song is available so far.

I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.

Let us now listen to today’s song …
