Blog Day :

Yesteryears actress Zeenat Aman (born on 19th November’1951) turns 71 years of age today on 19th November 2022.

For people like me who have grown up in the seventies, Zeenat Aman was one of the leading actresses in the movies produced during these years and in early eighties too.

Today I am not going into the details of her filmography or mentioning here the many of her movies which I like most or which I remember most.

(Yes, ‘Roti Kapada Aur Makaan-1974’, will always remain as my top favorite though)

To present a song on Zeenat Aman’s birthday today I was looking for a solo female song, and so I skipped launching of a movie from the ‘seventies’ which I am longing to introduce on the blog since long ( because that movie does not have a Zeenat Aman solo song in that) 🙂 .

Today’s song is from the ‘1982 movie ‘Jaanwar’.

There have been movies with this title ‘Jaanwar’ in 1965, 1982, 1999 and even in 2007 too. Today we get introduced to the ‘Jaanwar’ movie of ‘1982’.

It was directed by Ali Raza for ‘P.M. Pictures, Bombay’. This movie was produced by Pradyuman Mohla. It had Rajesh Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Pran, Yogeeta Bali, Prem Chopra, Pradeep Kumar, Nirupa Roy, Kamal Kapoor, Om Shivpuri, Beena, Rajan Haksar, Amar, Murad, Sundar, Mohan Choti, Meena T., Tom Alter, Madhup Sharma, Kanchan Bhatt and others.

This movie was passed by Censor Board 20.12.1982.

This movie has six songs written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

As mentioned above today we are going to listen to a solo song sung by Lata Mangeshkar and performed on screen by the beautiful Zeenat Aman. This song is a seduction song where Zeenat Aman wishes to come closer to Rajesh Khanna who is hesitating for the reasons unknown to us (or to me, as I have not watched this movie) 🙂

So far as I can remember I think this movie was not a successful movie of its time. Though, ‘Wikipedia’ mentions it a ‘hit’ movie. Also I do not remember to have heard the songs of these movies frequently. They all seem to be lesser heard songs.

Today’s song is a sweet melodious song to listen and enjoy.

Lyrics are by Majrooh Sultanpuri and music is composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Let us wish Zeenat Aman a very happy birthday and a healthy and peaceful enjoyable life ahead …

(with today’s song ‘Jaanwar-1982’ joins ‘Jaanwar-1965’ on the blog 🙂 )
