In this post we pay our tributes to music composer Robin Chatterjee on his ‘Remembrance Anniversary’ today. As per the ‘anniversary dates mentioned on the blog page of ‘, his date of passing is mentioned as 03rd April’1976.
Robin Chatterjee was born on 08.01.1914.
He composed music for several Bangla and Hindi movies and had worked as ‘sound recordist’ too.
On this blog we have the following movies represented where Robin Chatterjee was the music director:-

Today as a tribute to him I am presenting a song from the ‘1973’ movie ‘Chimani Ka Dhuaan’.
This movie had made its debut on the blog on 13.01.2016 when the first song from this movie was presented by ‘yours sincerely’. 🙂
‘Chimani Ka Dhuaan-1973’ was directed by Prabhat Mukherjee for Kamayani Pictures, Calcutta.
It had Motilal, Balraj Sahani, Helen, Achla Sachdev, Dhumal, Sabita Chatterjee, Madhukar, Baby Madhu, Harsh, Sharminder, Mohan Ojha and Shefali.
R.S.Preetam was the lyricist of this movie, while the music was composed by Robin Chatterjee.
It seems that ‘Chimani Ka Dhuaan-1973’ must be an obscure movie of its time, as very little information of this movie is available in the domain.
As per HFGK this movie was passed by Censor on 31.12.1973.
HFGK mentions that as per the films promotional booklet it is clear that the film was earlier named as ‘Praayschit’.
This film has total seven songs (as per HFGK) where Aarti Mukherjee, Mahendra Kapoor, Pranab Patnaik, Sandhya Mukherjee, Shipra Bose and Suman Kalyanpur have given their voices to the songs.
Today we listen to the second song from this movie which is sung by Suman Kalyanpur. Lyrics are by R.S. Preetam and as mentioned above music is composed by Robin Chatterjee.
This song is a nice song to listen to. However only the audio of this song is available.
