#the Decade of Fifties – 1951 – 1960 #
In this post I am presenting a song from the film ‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa-1959’.
‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa-1959’was directed by Satish Nigam for ‘Filmistan Limited, Bombay’. It was a ‘social movie’ passed by the Censor Board on 10.12.1959. The cast of this movie had Ameeta, Ravindra Kapoor, Durga Khote, P. Kailash, Badri Prasad, Agha, Savita Chatterjee, Lata, Sushil Kumar, Murad, Noorjahan, Narbada Shankar, Tiger (Dog), Munshi Khanjar and others.
‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa-1959’ has eight songs contributed by two lyricist viz. Anand Bakshi and Rahil Gorakhpuri. Both of them have written four songs each for this movie. This movie made its debut on this blog on 12.12.2011 with its’ song ‘tere pyaar ko iss tarah bhulaanaa’ in the voice of Mukesh.
The second song from the movie was later posted on 28.07.2017 which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and the song is ‘ye zameen ye gagan apnee dhun mein hain magan’. The singers for this movie are Asha Bhonsle, Mohd Rafi and Mukesh only. Later on we added the third song for this movie i.e. ‘ye nashaa aap kaa sarkaar utar jaayegaa’ in the voice of Asha Bhonsle. These are the three songs from this movie ‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa-1959’ that have been posted on this blog till now.
As mentioned by me in my previous posts it seems that finding the songs of this movie was difficult in the past, but now some songs from this movie have been made available by music lovers on the internet. But the song being covered in this post seems to be available on internet since 2014, but with poster of another same name movie of 1989 !
This song, the fourth song from ‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa-1959’ is a lovely ‘roothhnaa-manaanaa’ duet song in the voices of Asha Bhonsle and Mohd Rafi. I would just like to bring to the notice of readers that we already have more than six hundred duet songs of Rafi-Asha Bhonsle in the song and we still have their duet songs like this song left to be covered. Just imagine what a vast treasure of songs they have left behind for us to savour. Anand Bakshi as the lyricist of this song. Music is composed by the music maestro Roshan.
Only audio of this song is available. I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its’ songs.
