#the Decade of Fourties – 1941 – 1950 #
Regulars on the blog are well aware that I have been sharing songs sung by Sulochana Kadam for a long time. Our blog statistics page does not mention the total number of songs sung by her. I guess that the correct figure is yet to be confirmed. However we have so far covered more than one hundred songs sung by her. I have noted that coverage of her song has slowed down after her century of songs was reached in the blog.
I am on the look out for songs sung by her that are not yet covered on this blog. Today I came across this song which was for long considered as a lost song. However, a music lover has uploaded this song on internet. It is from the movie ‘Krishna Sudaama-1947’.
“Krishna Sudama-1947” was directed by C.R. Bajaj for ‘National Artistes’. It had Karan Dewan, Balak Ram, Miss Dulari, Vijay, Pt. Devendra, Krishna Goyal, Nirmal Kumar, Vinu Rawal, Govind Rao Tembe, Mohan Advani, Manu Desai, Surendra Rawal, Miss Vijaya, Miss Kusum Tagore, Miss Sulochana Kadam, Gulab and others.
This movie has eleven songs written by Kamalnayan and composed by Shyam Babu. One song from this movie was presented on the movie on 26.09.2016 by Shri Sadanand ji. This song is ‘man prem ki gaanthhon mein’…wherein he wrote about actor-singer Balakram in details. The second song from this movie was later posted on 09.02.2023, and this song is ‘maayaa nagar vyopaar meraa’.
I am presenting the third song from this movie ‘Krishna Sudaama-1947’ which is sung by Sulochana Kadam.
I am unable to note the correct words at many places in this song and I would request readers with keener ears to help provide the correct words/missing words in this song please.

Let us now enjoy this song. This is the kind of songs that I like listening to. This song is about ‘drink’ and ‘drunkenness’:) I like such songs for their valuable 🙂 and high class poetry 🙂 which has deep meaningful verses, many a times these verses contain the ‘philosophy of life’ in them.

Editor’s note– Movie’s title is Krishn Sudama. How does a song of drunkenness with lyrics containing sher-o-shaayri fit in a mythological movie like this one ?
