#the Decade of Fifties – 1951 – 1960 #
“Deepak-1951” was directed by Chandrashekhar for ‘Ram Ganguly Productions’ and it was passed by Censor Board on 07.02.1951. Ram Ganguly was also the producer and music composer of this movie. The cast of this movie “Deepak-1951” had Prithviraj, Vijaylakshami, Umesh Sharma, Arun Ganguly, Sajjan, Kamal Mehra, Shanti Madhok and others.
This movie has ten songs that were penned by two lyricist. Madhukar Rajasthani penned seven songs and Pt Narendra Sharma contributed two songs. Lyricist’s name is not known for one song.
So far, six songs from this movie ‘Deepak-1951’ have been covered on this blog.
Today we present the seventh song from this movie which is in the voice of Amirbai Karnataki. As per Geet Kosh Vol-III (1951-1960) this song is in two versions i.e. in the voice of Zohrabai Ambalewali and Ameerbai Karnataki. However, only one version is available i.e. the version in the voice of Amirbai Karnataki.
This song is a “facing adversity with courage and determination” genre of song.
Only audio of this song is available.
We will keep trying to locate the other version of this song and add it to this post whenever it is available and/or located on internet. Till then let us listen to this song.
Editor’s note:- Uploaders of this song mention the voice as Zohrabai Ambalewali, but the voice sounds like Amirbai Karnataki.
