Subhash Ghai – born on 24th January 1945 turns 80 today. He is an Indian film director, producer, actor, lyricist, music director and screenwriter, primarily known for his work in Hindi cinema. He was one of the most prominent Hindi filmmakers in the 1980s and 1990s. Later on, for sometime in the 1990s, he was only into producing films that were directed by Abbas-Mustaan, Anant Balani, Nagesh Kukunoor etc.

It was not an entire film but just a documentary made under the banner of Farida Films. Te foot note on this page for this ‘film’ mentions that Iqbal Qureshi, the composer of the song confirmed that it was just a non film song giving the story of China’s attack on India in the year 1962.

‘Noor Jahaan’ (1967) was produced under the banner of Zenith Productions with Sheikh Mukhtar being the executive producer. The film was directed by M Sadiq. 22nd January is the birth anniversary of a filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, editor and actor, who is known for acclaimed films such as Guide (1965), Teesri Manzil (1966), Jewel Thief (1967) and Johny Mera Naam (1970). He came from a family of filmmakers- producers, editors and actors. He made most of his films under the in-house banner Navketan Films and was part of the Anand Family. He was Vijay Anand a.k.a. Goldie Anand- younger brother of Chetan & Dev Anand. His sister Sheel Kanta Kapur is the mother of actor-director Shekhar Kapur and part-time actress Sohaila Kapur.
