Today (6 december 2014) is the fifth death anniversary of Bina Rai (4 June 1931- 6 December 2009). Here is a song from “Durgesh Nandini”(1956) on this occasion. This song is sung by Lata. The song is lip synced by Bina Rai whereaas a group of female dancers are seen performing a dance. Sheila Machandra is one of dancers that can be identified.

However, after three posts I now realise that, with so many of the Pancham gems not posted here, it is quite a difficult task. “Nai Imaarat”(1981) though a recent movie by the standards of this blog is an obscure movie. Even I have not heard of this movie though I was into watching Hindi movies with a vengeance at that time.

Today (19 november 2014) is the birth anniversary of Zeenat Aman (19 november 1951). She was one of the most popular leading ladies of Hindi movies during the 1970s. She, alongwith Parveen Babi, represented the “Westernised” women as opposed to traditional Indian women that actresses like Hema Malini, Rekha etc of that era represented.
