Greetings all for the celebration of Ram Navami today, the anniversary of the birth of Lord Ram. Ram is one of the many incarnations of Lord Vishnu, the Preserver and the Sustainer of this universe. Today’s celebration is one of the most ancient festivals celebrated in India. The date of Ram Navami can be traced back to the pre-Christian era. References to this celebration can be found in many of our scriptures. In Hindu religion, it is considered to one of the five major sacred festivals and it is said that, properly observing this fast leads to the attainment of salvation.

“Sant Tulsidas” (1939) is a movie which was based on the life of Goswami Tulsidas, the author of Ramcharitmanas. This movie had V. Pagnis, Vasanti, Leela Chitnis, K. Date, Ram Marathe, Kantilal, Susheela etc in it.

“Nastik” (1954) is a movie full of nice songs in it, including the timeless iconic song Dekh tere sansaar ki haalat.. Kitna badal gaya insaan.
