The Voice of Mukesh #56
– – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Ah, another simply wonderfully soulfully rendered song by Mukesh. This song is a song of wooing and romance, with a difference. It is a love song that Lord Ram sings on screen when He encounters Sita ji in the pushp vatika (flower garden). I really wonder what He would be thinking when He would have seen this film. 🙂

As a tribute to the great singer Pandit Bhimsen Joshi (4 february 1922- 24 january 2011) on his third death anniversary today (January 24th), here is a song from 1985 film Ankahee. The film was produced by Amol Palekar and Jayant D. The star cast included Amol Palekar, Deepti Naval, Devika Mukherjee, Vinod Mehra, Shriram Lagoo, Dina Pathak and Anil Chatterjee etc. The film had superb music and this traditional Bhajan is set to music by my most favourite Music Director Jaidevji.
