“Chingaari” (1971), despite being a recent movie by the standards of this blog is quite an obscure movie. Searching information about this movie hardly yields any information. Apparently this movie got released in 1989, despite being a movie of 1971. This movie had Sanjay Khan, Leena Chandawarkar, Shatrughan Sinha, Rehman, Pran, Padma Khanna, Jr Mehmood, David, Tiwari, Jagirdar etc in it.

Today (26 january 2013) is the 63rd Republic day of India. Though India had gained political freedom two years back on 15 august 1947, it was on 26 january 1950 that Indian constitution came into existence in India which defined the future course of action for this country. This document- the Indian constitution has since held the nation together and united and the country, despite facing extremely difficult challenges over the decades, has come a long way in the path of progress and development.

When one looks at the songs picturised on Dilip Kumar, one finds that Dilip Kumar, for much of his career had lip synced mainly in the voices of Talat Mehmood, Mukesh and Rafi. Today (25 october) is the death anniversary of Sahir Ludhianvi. Sahir Ludhianvi was an outstanding lyricist as we in blog are alraedy aware. In addition, he was a man of strong convictions and principles. In his views he was far more progressive that the era when he weas active. He championed the case of the underdog, the downtrodden, the law abiding masses, women etc. He spoke out against social evils. He shoke out against violence and war.

“Inspector” seems to be a popular title in Hindi movies of 1950s and later. One movie of this name was produced in 1956 and another movie of the same title was released in 1970. Both these movies ended up becoming obscure quickly enough.
