Few people, including me have heard of this movie called “Apna Ghar Apni Kahani” (1968). This movie had come in an era when we had a glut of classy songs, and I do not recall ever listening to songs of this movie. Not that I could have been able to identify the songs as belonging to this movie, had I heard the songs then.

I have posted two memorable songs from “Shart” (1954) in the past namely Na ye chaand hogaa na taare rahenge (Shart) and Dekho wo chaand chhupke kartaa hai kyaa ishaare (Shart) . This movie had another nice song in it which is not known to many people (including me) because that song is not available in the movie’s VCD. I became aware of this song only because of farmaish for this song by one of the visitors of this blog, viz. anverali valli.

I have posted a song from “Aaraam” (1951) in the past. This movie may not ring any bells with most fans, but this was a movie starring Dev Anand and Madhubala. And this movie had some nice songs in it.

I was not aware about this movie called “Aadhi Raat” (1950). This movie had Ashok Kumar, Nargis, Jeewan, Kuldip Kaur etc in it. And this movie had some decent songs in it too.

“Baaz” (1953) is a movie that brought Guru Dutt and O P Nayyar together for the first time. This movie has Guru Dutt as well as O P Nayyar in rather unfamilar roles. Guru Dutt is shown riding a horse (that makes this song a “horse” song) and O P Nayyar composes a music that is so un O P Nayyarish (stated with the benefit of hind sight, of course).

Shirin Farhaad” (1956) was a movie with Pradeep Kumar and Madhubala in lead roles. This movie had one memorable song in it ( Guzra hua zamaana aata nahin dobaara) that I have posted earlier in this blog. Here is another song from this movie.

This song is a special song in more ways than one. This is a song that should have been extremely well known song. Instead this song is largely unknown, not only to the younger generation, but even to those who lived in the era when this song and its movie was released.
