#The Decade of Eighties – 1981 – 1990 #
————————————————————————

We are all aware of the movie ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ which came in the year 1975. This movie turns fifty years old’ this year. I remember watching this movie with my parents and I liked all the songs from this movie. However I was not aware of the movie whose song is being covered in the post. I became aware of this movie only after getting hold of Geet Kosh Vol-VI (1981-1985). Geet Kosh mentions in the footnote of this movie that the songs from this movie ‘Sampoorna Santoshi Maa Ki Mahimaa-1981’ were released in the 1975 with the title ‘Santoshi Maa Ki Mahimaa’. However, later the title of this movie was changed to ‘Sampoorna Santoshi Maa Ki Mahimaa’ and it was released in 1981.

Today’s song is from the 1973 movie ‘Phir Aayaa Toofaan’. It was directed by B.J. Patel for People Pictures, Bombay. This movie was produced by Dhanpatrai. One song from this movie was presented by me earlier in 2023 as a part of the ‘missing movies of 1973’, on the occasion of movies that were completing fifty years of their release.

I have no recollections of this movie whatsoever. This seems to be a lesser known movie. But this movie is available on internet and those interested can watch it there.

Ranthambore is a well-known place as a National Park more so as one of the top Tiger Reserves in the country. Perhaps, it may be the only Tiger Reserves where the tigers have the ‘exclusive rights to visit’ about a dozen historical monuments located inside the National Park. The tourists can only see these historical monuments from the Tiger Safari vehicles. However, there is one exception where tourists can visit without being the part of the Tiger Safari. The monument is Ranthambore Fort in the heart of Ranthambore National Park and located about 12 kms from Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan.

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Chetak Aur Rana Pratap’. This movie was passed by the Censor Board on 07.08.1958. This movie is making its debut on the blog today, and I am surprised that so far it was missing here. Perhaps unavailability of the songs of this movie was the reason. Now a couple of songs of this movie have become available since 2019. The title of the movie suggests that it falls under the genre of ‘historical movies’.
