The previous post published earlier today was post number 19499. Eagle eyed regulars may have also noticed that today was 6300th day for the blog. So, going by past experience, they must be expecting the blog century post today.

They are not wrong, of course. When I noticed that we were approaching 6300th day for the blog, I decided to coincide that with blog century post. That meant I had to slow down from the usual rate of posts (3 to 4 posts a day) for a couple of days.

It is not the first time when blog century post has appeared on such a round hundred day for the blog. 18700th post had appeared on on 6000th day. Earlier 16900th post had appeared on 5000th day of the blog.

Today’s song is from the film Jhamela-1953.

This is my 1700th post on this Blog. I am very pleased with this landmark. At the age of 86 years, if I am able to write so many articles, it is nothing less than God’s Blessings. This century is the third century I have achieved in a single year i.e. in 2025 ! The 15th century came on 28-1-2025, the 16th century came on 28-5-2025 and now the third century came today, on 13-10-2025. What a coincidence !

Starting my career as a medical Representative in Glaxo Laboratories, I retired in 1998 as the General Manager- Marketing and today I am a Director in 2 well known Pharma companies. After my retirement I ran my own Consultancy firm for 10 years and then I left the Pharma industry with 40 years’ experience.

Today’s song is from the film Naag Panchami-1953.

The 5th Tithi or the 5th day of Saawan (Shrawan) is celebrated as NAAG PANCHAMI. On this day, Naag/Cobras or simply any snake in general is worshipped. This is because Snakes are considered as Farmer’s friends. Snakes eat mice, which destroy stored grains and standing crops too. Mice also spread many diseases in villages.

Worshipping Snakes is a symbolic way to acknowledge their importance to the Farmers and spread the message of environmental balance. On this day, young girls in the villages tie Jhoola(swing) on trees and sing songs.
