Blog 10-Year Challenge (2011-2021) – Song No. 10

This day ten years ago (viz 4 February 2011) saw six songs getting covered from six different movies. The sixth song of the day was the 3500th post in the blog. Seeing that the 16200th post of the blog was published yesterday (3 February 2021), we can say that the blog has added 127 centuries (or 12700 posts) in exactly one decade.

“Mem Didi”(1961) was produced by L B Lachhman and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee for L B Films, Bombay. The movie had Lalita Pawar, Jayant, David, Tanuja, Kaysi Mehra, Dhumal, Rashid Khan etc in it.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2011-2021) – Song No. 1

Blog Ten year Challenge, which was started in 2019 and which continued in 2020 as well, now enters 2021. This post is the first post for blog ten year challenge (2011-2021).
January 2011 was quite like January 2021, with only one or two songs being posted everyday. Unlike 2021, we already had DOT days in the year 2011 by 11 january 2011. Thankfully, these days I am very particular about avoiding DOT days at any cost. As a result, the just concluded year 2020 sa NIL DOT days. The only other year in the blog that had NIL DOT days as the year 2017.

The first song from 1941 was posted at 6:54 AM while the sixth and final song from a movie of 1971 was posted at 8:49 AM. Five out of six movies whose songs appeared in the blog that day have since been YIPPEED. “Pyaase Panchhi”(1961) is a movie which haad ten songs in it and siix of them have been covered so far. So this movie is the only movie which is eligible for the Blog Ten Year Chaallenge today (21 September 2020).

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 63

Ten years ago, I had devised a plan, and I was able to implement it to the full most of the days. The plan was to cover six songs everyday for three days, and then seven songs on the fourth day. That meant the blog added 25 songs in four days. The same cycle got repeated and the blog addeded 25 songs every four days. At the end of fpur such cycles, the blog would add 100 songs in 16 days. In summary, 4 x 25=100, where 25=(6+6+6+7)
The date ten years ago (29 august 2010) was one of those days when seven songs were discussed. Here are the details of these seven songs :-

That is how Balraj Sahni left his mark as an outstanding method actor in most of his nearly 100 films in which he acted during the course of his 27 years of filmy career. Balraj Sahni started his filmy career as an actor almost at the same time as Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor, the trinity of the golden period of Hindi film industry. But he had to struggle hard to establish himself as an actor in demand. It took him more than a decade to do so while his compatriot trinity had become the stars in early 1950s.
