#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #
————————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Mauqaa (UR)-1970)
——————————————-———————————
I have mentioned it in one of my earlier posts that I am trying to introduce Bhupinder Singh songs from his early career i.e. sixties to end-seventies. There are many popular and great gems that he has sung in the eighties and though they will also be coming, let us first bring here some of his earlier songs which are still missing from the blog.
Today’s song sung by Bhupinder Singh is a duet song with Asha Bhonsle. It is from an un-released movie titled as ‘Mauqaa’.
Two songs from this movieh already been covered. First song was presented by our Shri Sudhir ji on the blog earlier. Second song from this movie has been posted under the ‘blog ten-year challenge’ recently.
Very less information is available about this movie in HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980).
While the banner name under which this film was made is mentioned as ‘Give & Take Movies’, the name of the director is not mentioned.
The date of passing of this movie by Censor Board is also not mentioned and thus it seems to be an incomplete movie too.
Under the cast only two names viz. Nipon Goswami and Shobhana have been mentioned.
HFGK lists four songs for this movie. They are written by Mahendra Dehalvi (two songs) and Abhilaash (two songs).
Music for this movie was composed by Asit Ganguly (or some sources spelled it as Ashit Ganguly). (All the songs (or these four songs) from this movie were recorded and released by GCIL-Odeon Label). All these four songs are also now available on internet.
Here is the list of songs in this movie :-
SNo | Song Title | Lyricist | Singer/s | Posted On |
---|---|---|---|---|
01 | Gayaa dil haathhon se o deewaani | Mahendra Dehalvi | Bhupinder Singh, Asha Bhonsle | |
02 | Jhoomtaa muskuraataa chal | Abhilaash | Mukesh | 22.05.2013 |
03 | Uthhaaye tere naaz jo | Mahendra Dehalvi | Manna Dey | |
04 | Sadkon kaa raaja sabkaa hoon saathhi | Abhilaash | Asha Bhonsle | 22.05.2023 |
Two songs from this movie have been posted as mentioned above.
Incidentally both the songs posted on the blog are written by Abhilaash. So, the remaining two songs are written by Mahendra Dehalvi.
Today I present the third song from this movie which is sung by Bhupinder Singh and Asha Bhonsle which is penned by Mahendra Dehalvi.
This is a nice song to listen to in the category of ‘fallen/falling in love’ type song.
Let us listen to this song now…

On this date ten years ago (22 May 2013),seven songs from seven digfferent movies was covered in the blog. Here are the details:-
Post No | Song Title | Name of the movie | Remarks |

8111 | Saanwariya teri yaad mein ro ro marenge ham | Ramu To Deewaana Hai(1980) | 2 songs covered out of 10 by now |
8112 | Suraj ki garmi se jalte huye tan ko | 2/3 Parinay (1974) | 2 songs covered out of 3 by now |
8113 | Aaye aaye re nanhe munne raaja ko nindiya sulaaye | Doosri Sita (1974) | Movie YIPPEED in the blog with this song |

8116 | Tu meri adhoori pyaas pyaas | Ghajini (2008) | 1 song covered out of 5 by now |
We observe that two movies (out of seven) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. One movie was YIPPEED on this date ten years ago itself.
That leaves us with five unYIPPEED movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today.
“Mauqa”(1970) was an unreleased movie. The movie remained unreleased but four of its songs that were recorded were released in 1970. As for the details, the only detail available about the movie is hat it was produced under the banner of Give and Take movies. The movie had Nipon Goswami and Shobhana in it, perhaps in the lead roles.
One song from this unreleased movie was covered in the blog on this date ten years ago. Here is the second song from the movie.
This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Abhilaash is the lyricist. Music is composed by Asit Ganguly.
From the lyrics, it appears to be an introduction song, where a kid, who would grow up to be the hero, sings this song on the streets a bit like how Amitabh Bachchan wouldsing “rote huye aate hain sab hansta hua jo jaayega” in “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”(1978) eight years later. That is my guess about the picturisation of this song. 🙂 I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song, in case this song managed to get picturised.
Lyrics of the song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Ah yes, a surprise it is. This post is being written, as I am at the home of Khyati ji, in Fountain Valley, California. I reached here just earlier in the evening today, and Khyati ji and her husband, Jagdish Bhai picked me up at the airport. Folks may remember from an earlier exchange, that we had some specific plans for ensuring that we recognize each other, when we would meet for the first time at the airport (since we have never met before). But these plans did not work out, as planned. 🙂 I was supposed to be wearing a black trench coat, felt hat, and dark glasses, and carrying a red rose in my hand. And Khyati ji was supposed to be dressed like. . . well, without any description, I refer to the photograph she had shared in email.
