“Chakradhaari” (1954) is a religious/mythological movie and one expects its songs to be mainly prayers etc. And indeed there are several such songs. But this movie also has songs that are more “mainstream” in the sense that they have more to do more with human relations rather than with the Almighty.

“Waaman Avtaar” (1955) is one of those B grade mythological/religious movies that the mainstream movie goers did not patronise. The movie may not have been a big hit, but I guess that a movie made on such shoe string budget can always earn a small and tidy profit for its makers.

“Chakradhaari” (1954) was a B grade religious/mythological movie that the mainstream movie goers did not much care about. such movies were mostly acreened in small towns, where there was sizeable audience for such kind of movies.

In olden days, whenever a King had to make any public announcement, he would sent a royal announcer who would go to a public place, namely a market or a square. He would have a drummer with a huge Nagaada (an Indian musical drum) with him. The nagaadaa player was called nagaadchi.

Kavi Pradeep was known for wearing his heart on his sleeves and writing songs that he strongly believed in. And he had the ability to influence people with his hard hitting and straight from the heart lyrics. He has written songs iconic patriotic songs at a time when India was still ruled by the British, and he has written songs that give vent to the feelings of anguish among the public in the aftermath of partition related violence. He has written songs about the feelings of despondency and people feel when things are not going their way. And he has also written inspirational songs that tell people to look at the future with optimism, irrespective of what has happened in the past.

“Naagmani” (1957) is not a movie that too many people have heard of or know much about. But even those people have definitely heard at least one song from this movie, without being aware of the fact that they are listening to a song from “Naagmani” (1957).

“Bhakt Dhruv” (1957) was clearly a B grade low budget mythological movie. The movie as well as its songs ended up getting forgotten and subsequently obscure.
